As for what got me interested in this stuff...ever since I was a kid I was always interested in old things, and always wanted to go camping and exploring. Then when I was a teenager started reading Desert magazine, and was amazed to learn that there were all these cool old ghost towns and abandoned mines out there.

But I never got the chance to go to any of them until I was in my early 30s. Been doing it ever since, although my travel time is pretty limited due to my wife's health issues.

Desert Magazine is what got me interested also, back in the 1960s. Spent my junior and high school lunch breaks in the school library reading them and dreaming. Growing up and living in the Mojave Desert, my grandmother and I bounced all over the region between Lucerne Valley and Yucca Valley in her 1949 Chevy. I explored every path I could find on the forest service maps up to Big Bear, Running Springs and Lake Arrowhead. After graduating high school, I branched out to the Eastern Sierra and Nevada. Lots more to see back then, much has dissappeared due to nature and man.

In this video I visit the Goldome Mine and Mill, a modern abandoned mining facility in the Mojave desert.

The mill buildings have been badly vandalized. I had to use creative camera angles to minimize the extensive graffiti, and also retouched some shots. I refuse to give vandals the attention they crave.

This is the sixteenth in a series of videos from my 2019 trip, where I explored old mines, mining camps, ghost towns and other historic sites in Nevada and the Mojave desert.

Tires are BFG KO2’s, 285/70r17, and load range C.

Thank you. I wanted to keep it simple with the F5’s. Would love to run 17x9’s but there seems to be a lot more work to be done to get those to fit properly.

Stoped by Nitro Gears in Cashmere Washington for a 4.88 gear swap and a Harrop front e-locker. Its Amazing! From stock I always was wondering why going up hills was so awkward. It's now the way Toyota should have made it stock. I thought gas milage would suffer, but I went from 14mpg to 15.5mpg on the highway!

I wish they came in black but I don't see them listed. I did find them in a dark black woodgrain which I may order. Looks like the texture might match the panel below the passenger air bag but hard to tell.

Got my 2010 TE five years ago...been thinking about lifting it for years now. Finally bit the bullet. Like putting makeup on the nerdy girl with 125K miles. I never cared for the the stock height and stock forward rake look. Wow, does a lift make a difference. Maybeline difference.

Lift: Toytec Ultimate 3 inch lift
UCA: JBA STD high caster
Tires: 265/70R17

I'm a TDR sticker nut, so I did the unthinkable and slapped some TDR stickers on the rear! I actually like the look of them having seen a few 3rd gen's this way. I also have a 1UP USA black bike rack which works/looks great with a T4R.

Just got a TDR skid plate so will work on the installation of it. Not sure if I'll ever put nerf bars or sliders on it, could be another future mod.

...This type of grafitti is done by truly childish, immature people...who are also often quite destructive, as well...

...There should be criminal charges also for damaging historical sites..and ruining it for the rest of us who are interested in seeing these locations as they were when abandoned...

...I Hate seeing this in so many places!......people have lost all respect...both for places.....and people.....( gettin down off my soapbox now...)...

Spent a day watching sand driving and recovery videos. Have not gone off road since a snow run in April. Staying on pavement is driving me crazy.

Neighbor has a Colorado ZR2 but won't take it off-road. Other one has a lifted F150 with MTs and is not sure if it has 4WD. My April trip was with a group of Jeeps.

I miss SoCal where they were more active, had a few good group trips there.

Do you watch Coyote Works vids on Youtube? He has Jeep but goes all over Oregon off roading / camping by himself. Looks like a neat area.

Wow, I don't know if it's the photo or the wheels but those tires look way bigger than 285/70/17.
