Thanks man!Here's a video: YouTube
Older but relevant writeup: ATF Exchange (using the cooling line)
Taco, but relevant: DIY: Full Flush for Automatic Transmission | Tacoma World
EVERYTHING is the same between the older 4Runner, the Taco, and the 5th gen 4Runner, EXCEPT the style of the lines going to and from the cooler/tranny. I put a couple pics here showing the return line you need to disconnect. It seems it is always the "top" line going into the tranny as seen from the passenger-side underneath. You follow that to the front and track it down behind the radiator. The PRIMARY difference between 5th Gen T4Rs and the rest is the type of lines. Others use soft tubing going from the tranny to the cooler, ours uses hardlines going from the tranny to the cooler. Therefore we cannot use the 3/8" line to connect and route into a bottle because it's a soft rubber line, whereas it's a hardline on the others. I just clipped mine to the radiator petcock pointing straight down and it worked out.
This guy is only showing differentials and xfer case. I did the transmission fluid - entirely different operation. Thanks tho!

Great time to get her done! Don't forget the washers (part numbers in Taco writeup). Unfortunately Amazon is majorly backlogged but ATF through them is only about $50/6-pack. It's $66/6-pack at my local dealer here in Vegas. Good luck! Thanks man!
I was wondering what the differences were between the different methods. I guess I'll do mine with all this free time.
First wash after installing the lift, took me awhile to find one open here in KC (lockdown mode). Still pretty happy with the choice of lift, basically kept factory rake minus half an inch. Half a very slight creak in the front suspension (retorqued everything this morning), thinking everything is just settling in? Alignment happens tomorrow.

Did you torque at right height or with it jacked up? If jacked up, loosen it all and restart. Have to torque at ride height otherwise there can be binding and creaking issues. Did you swap control arms? Everything greased? Either way, creaking is not normal and not caused by settling in.

Looking good!! I'm still debating if should run some TRD wheels, or RRW wheels..... this here kinda settled it for me.
Not today but last weekend, truck got me up the hill for what was probably my last ski day for the season. Damn this virus.
Nice, the old steeps of Baldy! I miss that place after a huge snow dump!
I’ve been a huge fan. If you don’t already own the TRD wheels look at FN Pro ones, basically the same but 17x8 and 0 offset with is perfect for our rigs.

I’ve been on FN wheels website, all their wheels says out of stock.... should I just give them a call or their website is undergoing construction?
