Looks like you work on on Owens Lake. I lived in Trona and Ridgecrest as well as Big Pine. Left working in Trona in 2004. Moved to north-central Nevada not long after.Drove to work.
What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

May I suggest the air tank? Even small tank will keep your compressor from pressure spikes and running non-stop which will make it last longer. Nice fit and super cool to see belt back there.

Had a flat before a trip and had to throw some new tires on in a pinch. Tough to find good tires in stock where I am. Got the Firestone Adventure A/T2.
They are ok so far, see once they break in more. Definitely quiet and smooth on the road. Not impressed off road yet, but did have good grip. Also not as aggressive looking of tire compared to the BF Goodrich Wrangler Duratrac I had on before.

New wheels & tires. Added some Fuel wheels specs are 17x8.5 with -6 offset. Falken Wildpeaks 285/70/17 E1. Had to remove the front mud flaps and trim the front bumper.

I may add a tank, but I was going to try without one first. I have a load genie check/release valve to put inline on the discharge side to relive head pressure on startup. I also have a pressure switch and relay to shut off the motor when the manifold hits 100psi.
I plan on doing a dedicated thread for it once I get it in and running. Thanks for the feedback.

This was my weekend project that finished up today so I’m counting it as today.
Prepped, painted, and installed some LFD bump out sliders. Fitment is great on these, Jay and Phil of LFD are great guys who make an awesome product.

Clear film on rear bumper.
So I bought this:
$20 XPEL Clear Paint Protection Film Roll 6" x 60"
Amazon.com: XPEL Clear Paint Protection Film Roll 6" x 60": Automotive
And installed it today. I cut a 3" strip and put it in the center, avoiding the "bends" at the end of the bumper and it overlaps onto the face of the bumper only about 1/2 inch. I'm not too good with this kind of thing so I wanted to avoid trying to get it not to wrinkle around the slight bends. It's hard to see in the pic but it came out pretty good. I was sick of all the scratches and gouges in the bumper whenever I or someone else even touched it lightly with a cooler or something. Toyota should have continued the black part to cover more of the bumper but this should do it.

Installed Bilstein 5100's on rear. Paid someone to do fronts since working with the spring made me nervous, but now wish I'd done fronts too. Especially since the shop somehow managed to cut BOTH wheel speed sensor wires. :frusty: I coulda tore shit up on it myself for free. But they did get them in, alignment seems good, and wiring is somewhat OK. If they give me trouble I'll replace those myself, didn't really trust the shop to do any more with it after that. It is what it is, lesson learned and I'll move on.
I wasn't looking for lift or larger tires (just put new Discoverer AT3's on in stock size), so set the front at .85 to level and stock springs/no spacers in rear.
Was trying to explain to the wife how it rides/handles now compared to what the old stock shocks were like (much better!) and she just stared at me with what I imagine is the same blank stare I give her when she talks about shoes. :laugh:
Overall I'm happy with it. Now it's time to relax! :beer:

Was doing the tire rotation today and boy am I glad I don't have monotubes in the back/piston rod exposed!

ARB 63qt mounted to factory sliding tray.
Does it clear the back seat or do you need to fold them down?

The 40 can recline all the way, the 60 stays upright, but doesn't recline all the way back. Doesn't quite fit behind the 40, fits perfectly on the tray.
