What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I completed my first fix/mod by wrapping some sealant tape on the threads under my 4WD shift knob. I noticed it came loose easily under normal operation when test shifting the new ride the other day.

Are there any other fixes that a new 4Runner guy should be aware of?

Replaced my TRD Intake coupler that always seem to pop itself off in the most inconvenient times. With an HPS silicone hump hose coupler.

HPS is the only one I can find with a 4.25" x 4" long hump coupler. I wished it was red but black will do. If anyone is interested The HPS part# HTSHC-425-L4-BLK

Do the weathertechs have adhesive or do they literally just stick in there/stay in with pressure?

The fronts pressure fitted in, the rears have a thin adhesive strip but go in diagonally. I'm going to keep my windows up and leave it parked under the sun for a few days to let the reflectors set in.

Amazon. 3M stick on. They come in gloss black and silver. They were about $18 for a pair. My 2001 4Runner was hit so many times in the corners in parking lots I thought I’d give them a try. Thinking about a couple more for the front sides too. Looks OEM imo.

My daughter is learning to drive. My blood pressure needed a rest from around town practice so I took her to the mountains to drive off road for practice. Area had a huge fire several years ago, but the new growth is amazing. We actually lost a family cabin from the late 1800’s, really sucked. Columbines everywhere. The trail is pretty easy for at least half. I did have to trade with her several times. Lots of whoops that she had fun going over. The trail was made by my great grandfather as a cow trail for summer grazing. So fun to have some history thrown in.

Installed a full length Greenlane Rack, and prepped the trailer for 3 weeks of adventures. Mclean Creek, Livingstone, and Nordegg here I come.

Thanks. Yeah they do look OEM. I have Nautical Blue so I might paint them. I'll see after I get them. I'm guessing there are the ones you got?

Got my new Falken Wildpeaks installed. Went with 285/70/17. They fit perfect and the ride is so much better then the Goodyear Wranglers I had on there before.
