Didn’t manage to figure out a cost effective way to use my tarp setup without a rack. Liked the no rack look but whatever. Picked up a oem black one that was basically new for a very good price.

Plate & thin. It's rated for 20,500 GVWR, they don't specify BTU. Here's a good comparison of various transmission coolers.

I gave my 2020 Antics Design fuse cover another shot today. It didn't even last the non-driving weekend. I think I got it in more securely this time. I had to put it in the opposite way the stock cover goes in. The stock one anchors towards the front of the truck and snaps in the back. I found it easier to anchor the Antics one in the back and snap it into the front. I'm not sure if there are actually two clips on the front of the truck end of the fuse box which would make one of the holes moot, but it feels better situated now. I'll see how it goes this week.

Dropped it off with the local TLC/4Runner specialist to throw on some Squadron-R Pro Fogs because I’m a shell of a man and refuse to do even the most basic mods myself.

If someone would please come trim these H9s for me, because man baby, that’d be great.

I noticed the leak while changing the oil last week. My heart sank when I saw where it was coming from. I removed the air cleaner and saw the line was more saturated than the timing cover. Ordered the part and gaskets from my local dealer and upon closer inspection found the pin size hole. Toyota actually had a recall on the same line on previous vehicles years ago. Took about an hour to do, had to remove the power steering pump to access the lower 17mm bolt. Torqued everything down and cleaned it up with degreaser. I’ll check it out in a month or two to verify it’s all good. There may be more of us out there with leaking lines and a few that might’ve paid big bucks for a timing cover reseal when all that was leaking was this line.

1st road trip

for my 1st road trip I drove to Florida. Florida,Massachusetts.

Installed OMEs 2885 and 2889s on the 4Runner! After completion the rear passenger side is two inches higher! Springs are seated and I see no issues! Fronts are even! I did not leave the corned spacer and dropped the fronts to the zero setting. Fronts are at just over 38 and driver side rear is at 38 3/4!

Anyone else running this setup?

Look up 4runner lean or something like that. One side is higher because of the gas tank being on the driver side. Some people would install a small spacer to compensate. I'm running the same setup on my Limited 4runner but I don't recall the measurements.

Well this just saved me a couple hundred dollars in LED upgrades. Maybe now I'll pull out the aftermarket HIDs that were in my '17 ORP when I bought it and put in the proper halogens.

Did a few things over the weekend (finally took a vacation from vacationing up in the mountains lol).

First off, had a custom bracket made to relocate the winch control box. Makes it a whole lot easier to see the winch line when spooling.

Also installed some DD SS3 fogs which should make it easier driving through the mountains when its foggy. Had a few trips in the Western Sierra and Utah where the fog/intermittent weather made it pretty difficult to drive. Overall, pretty happy with the fogs cutoff. Also reaimed the headlights down alittle. Something must be wrong with one of the bulbs as when I aligned the low beams, the high beams were at different heights lol. Ill figure it out eventually.

I just put on BD Squadron-R Pros with the driving/combo lenses in white as a lightbar alternative and holy hell I cannot overstate how much light these things put down.

While they’re absolutely NOT fog lights any more, they more than serve their purpose while retaining stock aesthetics and the stock switch.

While they’re absolutely NOT fog lights any more, they more than serve their purpose while retaining stock aesthetics and the stock switch.

They're also not remotely street-legal so please make sure not to use them with any opposing traffic! If anyone is interested in a street-legal auxiliary high-beam, a few companies make J581 compliant, road-legal (high beam only) lights: KC HiLiTES, Diode Dynamics, Rigid, etc. The driving pattern that makes them J581 compliant is a bit more like a slightly diffused spotlight, as opposed to the Baja Designs combo of spot and flood.

I recommend the pro SS3 by Diode Dynamics. They are excellent.
