Finally mounted my Amazon traction boards to my LFD cross bars!!! Looks and performs awesome!

Used 5" long 3/8 bolts and then used washers and nuts to tighten the bolts to the bars so they are not contingent on the boards being tightened down. Had to make spacers out of PVC that I spray painted black. Then purchased some knobs through Amazon!

Yeah it was a 4th sale. They might have another sale for Labor Day though.

The cross bars are steel. I try to do everything on a budget when possible and the weight difference didn't really justify for the cost difference IMO.

Yea that was too good of a sale to give up. Was out around Mammoth when I was browsing on my phone and saw the sale. Quickly drove back to the main road to get enough signal to make the purchase haha

Got some new wheels

Got some new Method 702’s installed, 15% off sale and America’s Tires matched it and I didn’t have to pay for shipping. Waiting for the black lugs I ordered to come in. I like them and can’t wait to get bigger tires. The size I have now are stock. Anyone near Sacramento need the TRDOR wheels? I’ll be putting them on CL.

Installed our SSO Hybrid Bumper + Winch + Light Bar.

Some install notes:

• We installed the smittybilt winch with the solenoid on the side. No clearance issues there.
• We needed bolts for the Rigid light-bar that were about 1/4 inch shorter than those supplied with the light-bar. (the only needed trip to the hardware store for this project).
• The ears for mounting the light-bar in the bumper were bent outward a bit, and even when bent back to perpendicular were still spaced too far apart. Used extra bracket material as a spacer.
• Not sure if this is specific to 2020 versions, but the attachment point for the top part of the wheel-well fascia is a different type than the clips below. Before trying to pull of the front fascia you need to lift it up and around the small black plastic protuberance.
• 2020 4Runners have to disconnect the TSS module wiring and two bolts in the center of the engine compartment in front of the radiator.
• The lower brackets look like they are pushing the fascia out and forward.
• The bull bar for the 2020 seems high enough to not interfere with the TSS in my limited driving so far.

I'll chat with SSO about possibly updating some of those points in their install notes, and see if they can guide me as to what is off with the lower brackets.

Yes, but you have TREES! Unless you live in NYC. Then you have deep man made canyons. Used to enjoy the views from the top floors of the Trade Center while wishing to be back home; used to work for a company who headquartered there and would be in the city a few times annually. The view north from the office level was if you were looking down onto deep canyons.

True but we also have over crowding that's horrible but you know that if you worked in Manhattan. The view from the Towers was pretty amazing. I worked in a few buildings over the years including the UN for 25 years and for a year in
the Deutsche Bank Building across from the Trade Center that was heavily damaged on 9/11 and had to be demolished. I love up state NY but the taxes etc. here are ridiculous. I'll be moving to NC soon to get away from this state that once was actually nice to live in. Sorry, rant over lol.

Finally started wiring the aux fuse block. I managed to cuss, swear, and sweat just fine. Really though, I mounted the circuit breaker and ran the positive wire all the way to the fuse block. In the process of attempting to crimp the first ring terminal onto the 6 awg wire I destroyed it. So I didn't have enough connectors to do the negative wire. Next time I'm out I'll grab some, and some more for the upcoming accessories too.

Went to Sandlake dunes south of Tillamook, Oregon yesterday, no problem keeping social distances. Rented a quad and took our new R/C truck, Traxxas E Revo 2 VXL. It really will do 50 mph. Good area for dirt bikes and quads, fair for full size trucks. Two big bowls with narrow clearance on the sides to get by. Leaned this after having to turn down to the bottom due to sliding sideways for a while.

Im used to HIDs in my previous cars. these LEDS seems like the best bang for the buck. going to convert the rest of the fogs, highbeams and other interior lights to LED soon.

CarTrimHome flip key. Key cut at hardware store, then swapped transponder from original G key using heat gun and xacto knife to loosen glue (you do not have to destroy original key if you go slowly and use heat). Wrapped in gloss white to match Super White.

Interior LEDs are fine as they don't really need to project distance. As for your headlights, I recommend staying far away from LED bulbs. I had those exact ones and they are poorer performing than stock. Here is a review showing why:

Nice. I also used those grill locations for auxiliary high beams. The dimmable option is a great touch.

Thanks for the kind words. The reverse light and grill lights are DIY. Used a Curt 58140 Trailer-Side 7-Way Harness to create a custom plug and avoid running wires to the engine bay. Just wire up the harness to the light and plug in. No cutting/splicing of stock wires necessary. It's easily removable, but neither the plug nor light will fit through the tow hitch, so removing wiring from plug is necessary for removal. Could easily wire a small plug inline to make removal even easier.
