What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

It was a long hjot day working in 100 degree heat, but dammit, I got my Dobinsons suspension installed, 2" in the front and 1.5" in the back. It has only been driven about 10 miles so not fully settled to find the true final lift height.

Which Eibach lift are you running? Any measurements center hub to fender?

I have the Pro Truck Kit 2.75" in the front and 1" in the rear. I don't remember my measurements after but I installed .5" cornfed spacers on the rear springs to have a total of 1.5" but ended up with about 2" of lift instead. In the front I got 2" instead of the 2.75" which left me with a factory looking rake but lifted. I have the front struts set on the first notch as recommended from Eibach but based on my results I'll be moving it to the second notch pretty soon to level it out. Overall I'm happy with the Eibach kit and I'd recommend it.

Got the apex recovery points and RSG skid plate installed. Got my Dobinsons suspension delivered today so hopefully tomorrow I can get that in. Sadly I kind of fought with the skid plate. One of the holes didn't align correctly so I spent what felt like forever in the heat loosening and tightening bolts. Nothing a die grinder can't fix in about 10 seconds, but for now I am done.

Hopefully tomorrow I can show this installed. Then in a week it's off to explore some OHV areas and random forest roads.

I'm also considering the RSG skid, already got sliders on the way but kinda sucks to hear it was a little challenging to install. Did you happen to weigh it before install and did it significantly change the handling on the road so far?

I wanted to mount my reverse camera on my roof rack but it was just too hot under the sun. So only finished making my harness and mounting the KC Cyclones; under my hood.. Maybe next week I'll do the reverse camera and rock lights & another harness from scratch.

Honestly I have no idea if they changed the handling since the truck wasn't driven until the next day after a suspension install. I can't remember the weight but I think they are close to 80 pounds, and I think it lists the weight on their site. They are beefy. I did take a stock measurement prelift and my wife did right before the lift install and there was no noticeable change. I think since they hang back and are not nose heavy it doesn't affect the truck much if at all.

Aside from a slightly misaligned hole it would have been a lot easier for me if I bolted up the back, then the front. Instead I did back, middle, front. One middle bolt hole was off so it caused issues up front. When I did back, front then middle I only had one bolt issue which I could grind away about an 1/8" of material and have it all bolted up proper.

I 50/50 board slid my basically new runner down the devils staircase in Sedona without walking, and a spotter.... It was ****ing hilarious to me at the time and amazingly fun. But, it cost me in more ways than two. At long last I finally completed my repairs.

RSG sliders should be getting shipped out Monday so I removed the running boards and wish I had done sooner. Makes the recent Eibach lift stand out way better.

Nice video of the install! Did you remove the KDSS bolts to install the rears?

Thanks for the insight, definitely keep that in mind if I end up ordering. 80 pounds sounds damn heavy and I'm still considering aluminum. I like RSG because of how wide the skid is and protects more from other skids I've seen, especially RCI. If shipping wasnt so expensive for CBI that would be a no brainer since I really like their design as well and they offer it in aluminum. Funny enough, RSG's current skid looks a lot if not identical to CBI's previous skid. Since CBI has a newer design I think they might have sold their old design to RSG.

Thanks I appreciate you checking out the video, yes there was no other way around it. Once we got to the rears we were brainstorming what to unbolt, luckily I've watched enough videos on youtube of kdss lift installs and recognized which bolts would be the easiest to uninstall/install.

Fiddled with the transfer case crossmember. Emailed RCI about getting a shim or running washers to get the fitment OCD perfect on the passenger side (trying not to shear bolts and rip threads first contact).

Cut up the oem radiator guard to fit the RCI‘s. Cuts look like balls but it only took me a few mins so that’s what I get. It’s functional.

Gave it a wash and minor detail. Ready for some camping.

Took my first mini day trip and brought my parents along for the ride. Nothing crazy at all, went from LA to Malibu then had lunch at Paradise Cove. Most off-road I went was on some sand in the parking lot! Woohoo! :lol:

In other news, Nitto Ridge Grapplers are hella noisy on the freeway, specially compared to the stock Dunlops. Anyone know if the K02's are quieter?

Personally speaking I think that KO2’s are really quiet and are overall a great tire.

The more aggressive the noisier. I don't find the RG's to be noisy, especially against mud tires, and you won't hear much of a difference from the KO2's. Compared to the stock tires, yeah they will be louder.
