Awesome 3 day 2 night Mojave Desert trip with a great group of guys this past weekend! 128 miles of awesome trail!!!

A huge thanks to member krhayes79 for the invite. Fantastic trip of 6 vehicles and great people. No news, cell phones, clean air and no noise. 99% of the very few vehicles we even came across were 4Runners, Tacomas and Jeeps. One FJ Cruiser in our group. Last couple pics are where you go underground into the the lava tubes. You can see the lava flow going off into the distance.

What's special about the fenced in areas?

Someone had mentioned that these were ancient Indian camps that were later converted to a rest stop by the government and a portion of it as a stable for horses. Made a great first night for a campfire.

Had the good folks over at Mule Expedition Outfitters install my new ADS suspension. Went with ADS 2.5 IFP coilovers up front, ADS 2.5 Remote Resi rear shocks (rear springs are OME 2895E), and Timbren bump stops all around. I've run King and Icon on some of my past rigs, and these are right up there with them in terms of build and ride quality.

I am putting a block heater in hopefully today and wanted to get a wiring diagram of ignition dash/ fuel pump wires etc.

But not getting much help on this forum so that is on hold now

Cali Raised Rock Sliders

Added my angled Cali Raised LED rock sliders with rear kick-out over the weekend! I love the look, and the quality is excellent. They mounted up perfectly with no modifications or issues, and only took about an hour to install, by myself, with a floor jack and hand tools. I opted for the black powder coating, which perfectly matches the Pro roof rack. They are also built in house by Apex Fabworks using DOM tubing.

This looks great! And it also creates that struggle within to choose spacers over, let's say Bilsteins (which might not give that much lift?).

What made you choose spacers over other options?

Thank you! Simple answer, I paid a premium for the Pro suspension and I want to get my moneys worth LOL. Down the road I'll swap out for something better, but the upgraded Bilsteins I have in there now can handle this much lift and it's perfect for what I use the car for. I actually find that the slight preload helped stiffen up the suspension just enough to improve it's on-road manners :thumb:

I agree with this and did the same by adding 1.5/1” spacers to my Pro Bilsteins. I run 285’s without clearance problems, in part, thanks to the offset/width of the oem Pro wheels. I haven’t had any issues with the spacers on and off road and the ride is great. Just as Bimmerchop stated; the vehicle has a tighter feel with much less nosedive and handles better in the corners.

I picked up the Rago Fabrication toilet paper roll holder. It arrived today, and I installed it before the sun went down. It's cute. It's basic but looks like it will be functional. The part that comes out could probably stand to be a little longer. A full roll of TP really squishes between the outer part of the holder and the panel, so it's going to be hard to get paper off the roll. You might be able to alleviate this by putting an extra washer in each corner between the holder and the panel. It looks like the provided screws are long enough to support it. They might even be long enough to support two extra washers per corner. The rod in the center is a spring loaded deal. It's very tight in there. It doesn't like to rotate against the powder coating. I bet you can use that to your advantage by putting something extra in the roll to make the roll more resistant to spinning. This might help you to keep the roll from unraveling while driving.

While I have TP in there right now, what I may end up doing is cutting down a roll of paper towels to fit into the TP holder. I think paper towels will be more useful to me. The reason I decided to get the holder was because I had an especially messy outing with my radio controlled 4Runner one day and wished I had something to wipe it down before I put it in the back of my real 4Runner.

In any case, I'm happy with the TP holder. It fits well and should prove to be very useful to me. I might just decide to take a trip to the hardware store and get some more washers, though.

It looks like Rago may have run off a bunch of these and got them powder coated in advance. I didn't have to wait very long for them to ship mine.

Looks like a great trip in the Mojave Preserve, we enjoyed a few trips there before we left California for Oregon. May be the only thing we miss about California. (Maybe the beaches and warm weather too.)

Oil access bolts

So, like many before, I fell victim to the oil change idiots. The damage was done before I bought the truck, as I do all my own oil changes. But I still had to correct what was done.
Bolts holding the cover to the oil drain pretty stripped out. I got a tap in there, cleaned out the threads and put new bolts and washers on. Simple job, but had to be done.

As the Driver, your "Oh Sh*t" Handle should be the steering wheel. Not a grab handle. The passenger gets the handle because they have nothing else to grab for.
