Beautiful 60 degree day here in ND.. almost tropical. Washed the car, detailed the inside, and put in an order for an UpTop front fairing with 40" cutout. Dropping in a 42" Diode amber bar.

Installed a Toytec Boss 2.0 Aluma Series kit Thursday and Friday night.
So far so good! Waiting for JBA upper control arms to come in the mail this week. Still trying to decide on tires. Interested in the Yokohama geolandar MT or X-AT in a 285/70/17. Most likely will need spidertrax spacers to clear the UCAs, but I really like the look of the stock OR wheel.

Border-jumped in the 4Runner up to VA to the area around our lake house, with the wife, to get our Covid Vaccines, since VA is ahead of NC in progressing through the groups. Took a small rock to the windshield which caused a pea-sized star chip :mad2:

Took her on a 400 mile round trip to visit my son this weekend. Coming from a lifetime of cars/minvans, we were really impressed by the highway manners of the 4R, as well as surprised by the seat comfort. By comparison, our Odyssey beats the living [self-redacted] out of you.

Really digging the radar cruise control, just wish more people actually used their cruise rather than the spastic nature of the average American highway driver, speeding up, slowing down (wash, rinse, repeat). :argue:

Saw its first dirt too, even if it was only a potholed gravel parking area at a park.

Productive rainy day. May not look like much, but it’s clean and organized. First aid kit, 100’ paracord, folding knife, fixed knife, 5 ratchet straps, good flashlight, camp axe, fire extinguisher, compressor, tire plug kit, multi bit screwdriver, metric ratcheting wrench set, multiple pairs of gloves, recovery rope, recovery strap, tire deflator, tire gauge, and traction boards. Best part, no rattling crap in the back

On my third, and definitely final, aftermarket head unit. The Alpine Halo 9 just had too many big issues I felt I couldn't live with for what it cost. Had a Kenwood DMX1037S installed, and now i'm happy. The shop that's been doing the work has been phenomenal, swapped out all my speakers for Kenwood Excelon, door treatment, and now the head unit. This is how music should sound. In case anyone is on the fence about the Alpine, i'll list off the "cons" that made me send it back.

Alpine Halo 9 Cons: does not dim enough (the lowest setting is still much brighter than your gauges on low), screen quality (480p) is complete chit, maps wash out, INSANE GLARE, not tiltable, control buttons on bottom of bezel very hard to use, no volume knob (never knew how much I wanted a volume knob until it was gone), no wireless carplay.

Is the screen currently at its lowest physical setting? Curious how low it can go to free up vents.

This is now in the running for me for an upgrade.

I actually really like the Husky cargo liner. Took a while to lay flat but I put some weight on it on a hot day and it lays flat. But after that I've had no issues and been pleased with it.

I finished our new sleeping platform over the weekend. The hinged end panel is unnecessary but I think when it's closed it gives it a finished look and will be great for collecting a bunch of dumb patches that I don't need.
