What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I came up Spring Drive. I forgot to activate my Gaia, so the numbers are a rough guess. I went about one mile past the water tank, after the first sharp left hand curve is the general area where the passenger front tire went airborne. I was already in 4Lo, so I continued forward and gouged the skids. I went another half mile where there was a high rock shelf. Only way around it was on the right side. If I went on the right and slid towards the rocks, definitely would’ve damaged the driver’s side OEM steps and possibly the rocker panel. I saw plenty of dune buggy, motorcycle and quads coming back from the falls. I also saw a group of Wranglers and one 4Runner heading down the mountain . When I turned around, I saw a military surplus HMMWV guided tour going towards the falls. Next time I’ll get out on foot and check the trail conditions more since I didn’t have a spotter.

Yeah the high rock shelf is where I took the wrong line. I took the left side. The front got up but the back was a little too heavy to get up ( with the fam ... the rig weights about 7200lbs) . So I backed out and got up at a angle entering center then getting up on the right side.

Did you try and make sure the window was all the way up? Sometimes my pups step on the button and crack the window just a hair. That prevents everything from working back there

Tried to figure out why my rear hatch/window/wiper/defogger will not work, fuses are good, bought a new rear ecu, checked connections. Still nothing. Guess there is a short somewhere? Driving me nuts! First electrical problem I’ve ever dealt with automotive wise so I have some learning to do.

Just got home from a 3 week hitch at work (offshore, Gulf of Mexico) to find some of my goodies had arrived.

Installed the Diode Dynamics Tail as Turn modules and LED backup lights. Literally took less than 5 minutes to do, I was amazed at how easy it was.

Got my Midland GMRS radio in, but I'm waiting for a mount and different antennas to come in before installing. Also got the free FRS walkie deal when I ordered my base unit, so those are charging up.

Got other stuff in for our BCT Fort XL trailer, we're going to do an overnighter this weekend so my wife can get used to it, then we'll be going on a beach run with a few people off of a couple FB overland and Toyota groups the following weekend.

Still haven't received a shipping notice from RCI but I've got my fingers crossed that it'll be soon so I can install my skids.

a couple days ago I did Lockhart Basin again. It didn't go as well as the first time (but was way more fun, since I had a lady friend and two dogs with me instead of solo).

I got stuck.

It took a jeep and a taco to pull me out. The jeep tried to winch me out and ended up winching his jeep to my 4runner instead of vice versa.

I very broke my driver side CV axle.

drove out the remaining 50+ miles in 2wd/3wd with locker when necessary

this morning I fixed it. getting the axle nut off without an air-driven impact wrench was a *****.

I didn't really do anything other than receive email confirmation from Diode Dynamics that my 42" amber lightbar should ship next week. Already grabbed a front fairing from UpTop with a cutout for the Diode. Exciting times.

Not sure if it’s my luck, my driving, the car’s geometry, or Washington State roads, but this is the third rock in 6 months. Definitely the biggest rock too - flung up by a semi I was passing because the guy looked like he was driving with his knees...

Popped the cherry on the 4Runner. First time out since I got it in January. Felt so good!

- First oil change today, CHECK!
- Having to remove the front skid plate is a complete PITA, CHECK!
- Ordering an aftermarket skid plate later today with the panel to access the oil filter, CHECK!

Edit - Also rotated the tires. Skid plate pissed me off so much I forgot to mention the rotation.

Edit - LFD Offroad skid plate ordered.

We're out doing a shakedown run with our trailer. We haven't made a trip with it since I went to pick it up in AZ in February. It's the wife's and the puppers' first time out in it.
