Got this light bar for free. Put a couple Lamin-x strips on it and tried to mount it in the upper grill. That was a no go, so I found this Rago Hidden Mount with the bar for a steal of the price. Didn't realize he was selling the lights with them as well. So I have to figure that out as well.

PPF Work

Yesterday I dropped my car off to get full body clear paint protection film.

bumpers, fenders, all 4 doors

Was hesitant, was pretty expensive, but glad I am doing it.

Wife drives it every day, so time is limited.

Today (this afternoon), I hope to install side rails/running boards and go through the emergency stuff from her old Xterra to determine what goes in the 4Runner (5th Gen SR5). I have ordered a bull bar, roof rack, got traction boards, and a few other things.

Most of my work during the week (limited because I just got out of the hospital) has been on my FJ40.

Gotta clean out the Frontier today because I sold it (related elsewhere).

It's a nice day today, so I took my 4Runner out to a hiking trail for my little RC Trailrunner. Unfortunately, the steering servo went out probably a mile into the woods. I had to carry it back home. I then got another servo and tested it outside the truck. The new servo works, so I'm going to replace it tomorrow or during the week. Whatever. I'm not going to take the truck out tomorrow anyway because it's supposed to be raining.

Since it was nice today, I took this opportunity to look under my 2020 4Runner SR5. I had done Fluid Film last fall, and I gave the rust situation a look. It's nice! I might have seen one tiny spot of rust, but I think it's just something with the weld. There was still a light coat of Fluid Film over everything, even the bottom of the frame rails. I'm very impressed. I'm glad I did it last fall. I'm definitely going to be doing it again. Anyway, while it was probably overkill, I did just a bit on the easily visible exterior frame rails and rocker panels. I probably only used a quarter of the can. I didn't go crazy with it. I still think I've got plenty of Fluid Film inside the rocker panels and frame rails because I still occasionally smell it on a warm day.

I also remembered that I could be creative and do things to make use of my Rok Straps and my Maxtrax. While I couldn't get the Maxtrax up on the Rago shelf, I utilized the Rok Straps and the cargo net hooks to secure the Maxtrax. It works pretty good! I already covered up the Maxtrax with a towel so the UV from the sunlight doesn't eat them up.

did some stuff today, basically upgraded all the stuff that annoyed me in my last trip to the mall:

1. put a collapsible antenna mount (currently 2db gmrs dildotenna on it, but have a 6db monster dildotenna at home)
2. ran a always hot wire to my accessory panel (1. dedicated ARB fridge socket and another standard socket to power my LED strip).
3. velcro'd a dual LED strip (amber and white) on my rago shelf.
4. washed my molle pouches...after camping in it..smelled like hantavirus and coronavirus sweat.
5. added some quick fists to the rago molle panels for random camping accessories (hatchet and mallet)

Completed The Ultimate Cargo Lighting Mod.

It's dark in the back. Especially when camping.

Since I sleep in the back, I find it is nice to have light that's not connected to the ignition so I can just turn it on and off as needed. And I like to be able to use red or white light depending on what I'm doing. So mounted two of these Baja Designs rock lights (each has a push button on/off) and ran power to a fuse block.

Hey guys, brand new here but own a 2021 4Runner TRDP! Today I got some raptor lights in and went to install them! Only things is, the 10INJ fuse is already in use and I had to wire them through the firewall. I know there must be a forum somewhere for this but there isnt a fuse in the cabin I can use (well not the one they have in the videos lol) I didn’t know if the kdss fuse has a use and would be a good spot for these lights? Someone I saw mentioned the ACC fuse, but it’s only a 7.5 fuse and the raptor light plug in has a 10 and 15 on it. Not sure if that matters or if anyone has any experiences with this or not! Just looking for some help so I don’t blow a fuse on my purdy new T4R! Thanks guys and sorry if this post should have been somewhere else, but it’s what I’ve been up to today on the rig!

I would definitely like to see how you did that as I too overland and sleep in the back of my rig. Never thought about this but I really like the setup you have right here

Cleaned out the Frontier=found ALL kinds of goodies: 2 Maglites, a gun-safe, etc. Got the side rails/running boards installed. As always, last bolt was a b++++ to get out!. Got my FJ40 ready for the shop!~ Roof basket & bull bar come this week, so they'll wait for the weekend!!

It wasn't bad, I lined up the front edge first and kind of worked backwards. Had the wife help hold it. I ended up pulling it up a few times to get the wrinkles out all the way to the edge.
