What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Finally finished my headlight retrofit utilizing Morimoto's MLED projectors for Lows/Highs and Profile Hi-Lens projectors in high beam area. Also threw in some Xenon Depot Xtreme VF led bulbs for parking/turn signal bulbs. The housings are OEM too, I decided to cut them open instead of trying to deal with the permaseal.

I'm not sure yet. Give me some time to make sure the current design works well enough or if I need to make some modifications.

Currently it takes about 12 hours to print one pair, if I can get the first layer to adhere, which has been a challenge with the TPU material.

If I get a good final design, what do you think would be a fair price?

as with all off road parts these days, simply find a fair price, double it and add 30% and you have your MSRP. I swear it costs more to camp nowadays than it does to buy a house.

Have not done it, but plan to, though not on OEM 4Runner Headlights. Have a 1999 K2500 Suburban using HID lights and I need a euro-style crystal clear lens on a housing with a deflector cup that attaches from above the bulb. The deflector cups that attach from below, melt from the heat and droop down. Hard to find the style I need and I need new lenses. Old lenses have yellowed and crazed. Attempts to polish only crack them. They use much cheaper polycarbonate in the after market lenses.

Big Bend

Not today, but last week.....My wife and I spent a week at Big Bend. Lots of hiking and driving back roads in the 4Runner. The park is beautiful. Whenever I asked a ranger about the road conditions, they would ask me what type of vehicle I was in. When I replied 4Runner, their next words were "you'll have no problem." Lol!

Please educate me on this if wrong....I thought a catch can was mostly beneficial for direct injected engines as it prevents carbon buildup on the valves.
What is reason for Cc on the 4r engine (i don't recall it being direct injection)

[MENTION=585298]TrailRunnin14[/MENTION] couldn’t have said it better. That’s why I installed the catch can. I plan on keep this thing til the wheels fall off and this is just cheap insurance. GDI engines usually accumulate excessive build up behind the valves but that’s because there’s nothing providing the cleaning effect multi-port injection systems do.

Yah, the bake method with permaseal is a huge pain. I have a broken housing to prove it. I can probably get an oem 4runner headlight open in 15 minutes by cutting.

Did a little maintenance this weekend. Engine oil, transfer case oil, lubed the driveshafts, and replaced the rear brake pads. I had just done pads all around at 60k miles - not sure why I'm doing rear pads again at 80k. Front pads still have 90% life in them. I don't know if its brake bias or traction control or what.

Installed the TRD air flow accelerator to my airbox, it looks like a velocity stack vs the stock half scoop.

how was the brake replacement? Im at 52k and have about 3mm all around.

Installed the accessorides remote start kit..super easy install..Not sure why I waited so long to do this..excellent upgrade..

Also installed some frontrunner eyehooks to my LFD cross bars..will make it easier to strap down my kayak..

Yes. They are a bit pricey. I did the radio/ac plates, those below that, the steering wheel plates and the steering wheel emblem. There are more available for the shift plate, door locks, glove box.

New Bronco VS 4Runner

I don't know if anyone else posted this. If so I apologize. I think the 4Runner did very good against this brand new, full of off road tech Bronco. Plus like he says at the end the Bronco is very uncomfortable on road (I've seen/heard that in other places as well). All in all there's no way this thing makes the 4Runner any less desirable and there's also most likely no way the Bronco will be nearly as reliable.
