What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Yeah, I second that. I'm considering jumping straight from 33s to 35s (after I regear). I'm sitting a little higher (3.5"F/3"R), but still expect to have to do some additional work (pinch welds, cut front bumper, etc).

I jumped from 285/70s to 315/70s, I did the things you mentioned and I'm all good. I do slightly rub on the UCA full lock (JBA). Alignment dialed. If you have 0 offset wheels like I do (or higher offset), be aware.

Installed LT over the weekend. Welded on and kind of fabricated one of the bump stop sleeves today. cut the bumper+ added rear spacers. The fox bumps and new 2.5 rears will be here and I’ll put them on over the weekend. It’s coming along really well. It had icon mid travel for a little bit it just wasn’t handling running like i wanted.

The bumps are fox ifp for raptors that we worked on a bit to get them set for the 4Runner. I think the technology in them is super sound and from what I’ve heard they work wonders. I’ve been trying to get this pre running ready for a little while now but i know people have a lot of trouble with that. I’ve also been working with another company to get the rear 2.5’s modified with bypass so we can finally rip out the old 2.0’s. I’m really hoping it all comes together and works out.

i'm running king shorty threaded bumps in the back (with the TC weld on kit), the difference was incredible.

I set them up with the shocks set to almost full bump with the bumps at full bump. maybe itll save the shocks, maybe it wont matter.

King makes bypasses for the rears.

I’m using the brackets from the TC kit. What kind of driving do you do with yours? I was going to go the king route for everything but their lead times as of right now for the bypass is 56 weeks and I’ve never had a problem with fox so I just went with them.

yea thats just wild.

week long baja runs with expedition x offroad (not their raptor runs lol)...i'm looking to upgrade the front to the new camburg kit coming out that retains OEM replacement coilovers. it's not ideal for shock leverage but i think for my use it makes sense instead of buying 8" coilovers AND a kit.

Am I missing something or do you not have a front sway bar? This kind of build is new to me.

This isn't uncommon for IFS off-roaders. Unlike solid axles, the IFS doesn't have the lever of an axle going from one side to the other, forcing one side down when the other goes up. So some people ditch the front sway bar to make the front flex more. Typically the keep the rear sway bar or even upgrade it to something a little stiffer to compensate.

Along with what Baldrik said, it has long travel so it’s physically wider on each side and the oem bar doesn’t fit anymore. You can buy ones that fit but it’s going to hinder the long travel.

It would have definitely cut down on the price without the new coilover but I don’t think i would have been happy until my old one was replaced. It was between camburg and BK for me. I went Baja kits because I like the idea of Brenthel fabricating anything and I’m happy i did because I was not even remotely disappointed with them. I’ll post the new setup in the rear once it’s done this week.

It’s around the normal price if you buy them from anywhere even with the “savings”. I feel like this will come back to haunt me but anyone can mount a tire and balance it even guys at Costco, do it

its normal sale price and typically see other places about 100-200 more. Debating if i''ll have tire discounters match it and do an alignment. They did my previous alignment after the trd pro suspension install and it wasnt the best. Still debate if I want the 275/70/17 size.

I would! BFG runs on the small size too.
