I have a 20' canoe. Also red. When I would haul it with my 4th gen, my mpg would actually increase.
Picked up a canoe and 2 kayaks (already took the yaks out obviously) to go cruising down a local creek tomorrow.

Wash and installed the LFD Off-road crossbars on OEM rails. Kind of a pain with the T-nuts, but fortunately I have a tiny pinky finger and can barely get it in the slot to hold it in place.

Already have an aggressive BMC, but still had to trim some of the fender liner and used a heat gun to remold some of it as well

Got a fusebox installed for accessories!
I ran lines all the way to the trunk so I can power an ARB fridge when the car isn't on as well as another to power another mod I have planned for later this summer. :spy:
I bought all the parts from West Marine, except for the 100A Fuse which I got from Amazon.

Just got back from North Platte Nebraska. The guys at Premiere Toyota were very nice. Daulton even picked me up at the airport.
I’m blown away by how nice this one is on the highway with the adaptive cruise, lane change alert, and autodimming LED headlights. I wasn't even that tired when I got home, because it kinda drives itself!
She had 10 miles on her when I picked her up. I have never owned a new vehicle so I am kind of blown away.
I pull up at 4 am after driving all night and across the street is a TRD in Lunar Rock. We had a laugh the next morning, now we are acquainted. Great guy!
Everything was perfect, I have a long weekend to recover and enjoy, and the weather was great. Plus I have never owned a new vehicle before. It’s perfect.
Happy Memorial Day and thanks to those whose sacrifice made this all possible.

Drove to NY from NC, 640 miles. I haven't reset the mileage since I drove down there last January. When I got to NC back then I had gotten just over 20MPG full highway with the truck loaded up pretty full. Daily driving around down there it went down to 17.5 which is average for me. After the trip back it now reads 18.6. When I travel I always use cruise control and it's usually 10 over the speed limit so at times I was doing 80. Not great mileage speed in our trucks! With the price of gas now I might have to ease up on the skinny pedal a bit lol!

I didn't have that much luck. It was about 100mi round trip but it also didn't seem to decrease mpg either.
The guys that helped me load the thing up though seemed rushed and I wasn't able to keep it from sliding across the front of the roof. Left some pretty good scratches. Hoping to buff those out and wrap the roof before buying the roof rack

Got the new transfer case skid and brace painted. Tomorrow I'll paint the engine/transmission skid plate.
That leaves the upper control arms. Had one painted, then messed it up. Was redoing it when side tracked by the slab (to work on the 4runner) and carport. Roof goes on the carport tomorrow. Had to rent a taller ladder.
Such a long list of projects.

Diagnosed a front end clunk (skid plate fitment), installed Whiteline sway bar bushings, installed OCD front sway bar end links, touched up the powder coating on the ladder, and reattached the awning for camping season. I still need to install the OCD rear sway bar end links and get the Durobumps installed in the back but overall it was a pretty productive weekend.

Was visiting friends in Salt Lake with my wife and kids. Left around 7:00am yesterday morning. It had been raining overnight and the rain was snow/sleet as we crested the pass approaching Park City on I-80. A car had presumably spun out ahead and was being assisted by an emergency response truck with hazard lights indicating traffic to move right. I was traveling in the left lane, and as I was downshifting to slow down, a car about 30 yards ahead of me and in the lane to my right began to spin. The car behind that one, also to my right then began to spin and the two made contact before hurtling into my lane and giving me no way out (left side of Highway has very little median there). I slammed into both cars. Thankfully the family is ok, although my 4yo was pretty upset by the whole event. The other drivers were both young women (18-20 id guess) and both were shaken up being their first accident, but physically ok. Their vehicles fared much worse. A friend picked us up and we were able to book a flight home pretty quickly, so everything worked out.
The truck will be shipped back to Denver this week, where it’ll be inspected and it’s fate determined. I was surprised the airbags didn’t deploy given the impact at ~50mph. The front fascia hood fenders etc were obviously damaged and both fenders pushed rearward making both front doors very difficult to open more than a few inches. I couldn’t tell the extent of the damage under the hood - the radiator was a bit crunched and it looked like the crankshaft may have bent, but hard to tell. Didn’t see any obvious frame damage but the radiator supports were pretty crumpled (I’m sure by design). The wiper fluid reservoir was sliced in half by something.
It was due to be dropped off at RSG for a lift, airbags, tires and sliders on Friday! Womp womp.
Unfortunately, this isn’t my first rodeo. Nearly 6 years ago my wife and I hit an elk at high speeds in Montana. That truck (identical to this one which replaced it) had 8k miles on it. Every airbag in the vehicle from front to back went off and $27k in damages led to insurance paying me out to buy a new one. I love my rig and am very torn about what outcome I am rooting for here.

IN the event they total it......You should remove your roof rack and keep for replacement or sell it. Likely they will not give you "credit" towards the value of it. Also, you may already know this, but if totaled, you don't necessarily have to take what the insurance co offers. They will likely offer "book" value and as you know in todays market, the value can be much higher. My personal experience was that you can find similar year and mileage vehicles listed and submit those to increase your value if they are low balling you.

I feel your pain brother,, I just wrecked mine, though not as bad. I took/taking my time to plan the right outcome. I'm glad i didnt rush into any decisions.
Thankfully, you didn't hurt your family or anyone else. That's what I kept telling myself. That alone is powerful.
