What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Few days ago I was swapping out my front struts for Tacoma Trd off-road struts(yellow bilsteins), and I wrecked my passenger cv boot after not reinstalling the sway bar end link. Rookie move on my end. So I went ahead and ordered a new cv and boot kit with plans to reboot my old axle as a spare. Today I finished reinstalling the new axle, finished the front struts and leveling kit, finishing installing my 1” eibach coils in the rear, filled the front diff and did an engine oil change. This damn car fought me the whole way. And my abs and 4x4 light are flashing at me so I think I need to replace an abs wire. Definitely not easy as working on my Colorado…

Anyways… I’m happy with how she sits and rides. It’s perfectly level front to rear so I’m thinking about doing another inch in the rear to keep some rake but for now I’m happy.

Trimmed the rear mud flaps. Also removed the cheesy chrome exhaust tip and removed my 3rd row seating in preparation for a drawer/ sleeping platform I’ll be building.

Random stuff today that had been gathering dust. Did that other filter upgrade from the foam (cannot even recall what it is called I have had it around so long). Finished upgrading the door lights to LED in the rear and the front received the 4Runner Projector lights. Also had a burn out on some off brand reverse lights, so swapped in some LASFIT. Not sure I agree with the name as they do not "FIT" in the sockets very snugly, will be curious how long until they fall out into the housings...

Swapped stock rear shocks for Bilstein 5100s.

Rear seems to be sitting higher than before. I have 5100s on the front, too, at the 0.85" position.

Drove about 2.5 hours today. Noticeably firmer ride, but also much more controlled over bumps on the highway.

Got up early to make donuts and play in the fresh snow... I have been smiling ever since. Also, finally had a chance to play with all the crawl/asc/desc controls, but couldn't even find a situation that necessitated it. This thing is impressively capable, even on the OE Dunlops.

Drove over 36 hours over the past 7+ days and put on 1,271 miles. Averaged 17.1 mpg driving freeways, dirt trails, rock crawling and climbing mountains in Death Valley. Now to assess damage and clean up Max, our 2021 ORP.
