What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Should I be worried about this seep on my 2022, 11k miles? Doesn’t seem bad but also seemed kinda weird on such a new rig.

Saw this when checking out the engine after towing my tiny camper to a nice little BLM campground outside of Townsend MT. I’m looking at the smudge on the bolt, this is right behind the coolant overflow tank you can see in the photo.

is that your valve cover? it looks like a valve cover gasket leak, albeit a very minor one. mine looked like that in two spots when I had mine done around 150k miles. 11k miles? take it back to toyota and have them replace the valve cover gaskets as well as the cam shaft seals and spark plug o rings. they will probably say no since they should last way longer than that but it's worth a shot

KDSS Apex Overland Recovery Points are finally ready to tow
Next up:
-4th set of off road lights. EVERGEAR 1,350 lumens, 30w, 3-¾" round flood lights for roof rack scene lighting. Tieing to ditch lights dash switch
-F1 smoked LED triangular chase light with lighting effects, rear roof rack mounted

How bad was the Apex install? I've been putting off doing mine

Ran the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands NP over Thanksgiving with my buddies. We split the trail into 3 sections, camping at the very beginning (Shafer), the middle (White Crack), and at the very end (Labyrinth). Drove north from Labyrinth on the last day and we were blocked by a huge rockfall that had occurred the night before, not even a 1/4-mile from where we had camped. So we had to drive back all the way around the way we had come in on that day, since we had planned to drive out to Moab, then off to Flagstaff before returning to Los Angeles.

Finished install of LasFit LEDs, both Low and High Beams. Also installed LED fogs which I want to thank FattyHunter for providing them to me. We are in deer and elk country and are extremely happy with the results.

Dropped my engine skid on a rock while coming down Imogene earlier this summer, and had it stitched back together by a local aluminum fab guy. Finally got it back on the truck yesterday.

I can't wait to do it again. The backside was a little stressful because it started dumping a rain/snow combo and a few folks were getting stuck, but I had a blast.

I've only done it twice, but last year there was a thunder/lightening storm rolling in and we didn't want to risk it. We decided to head to Moab for a few days then came back and knocked out Black Bear and Imogene (Ouray side was only open due maintenance)

new chase lights

Out with the old, and in with the new.

Had some DD ssc2's that stuck out like a sore zit, so decided to go with some KC cyclone v2's, and they fit on the prinsu cross bars without sitting too proud (or above the bars). My hatch wouldn't close if I moved the ssc2's lower, and an awnings prevented it from mounting them on the side of the rack.

if you have a double cross bar sitting vertical, you "might" not need any extra mounts for the cyclones. I didn't need any.

Installation was super easy and fairly inexpensive. I think i found my new favorite mod.

After dark last night, I started up my '18 SR5. It was 27°. The windshield was foggy and the defroster wasn't doing anything so I hit the driver door window switch to lower the window a bit to help. The window dropped about an inch and stopped. I cycled it two more times with the same result. I quit trying out of fear of a window regulator gone bad.

I thought about icing stopping the window, but it was above freezing less than an hour before and in the 40s during the day. There hasn't been any precipitation for several days, but there was freezing fog all morning.

This afternoon I fearfully tried again. The window worked normally. Whew!

I had a similar issue with my liftgate window. in the really cold weather it would go down and then sometimes stop on the way up. one time I had to inch it up over the course of 5 minutes. replaced motor and regulator and that solved the problem. hopefully your issue was just some residual ice but unusual that it would only go down an inch vs. not at all
