What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Out with the old, and in with the new.

Had some DD ssc2's that stuck out like a sore zit, so decided to go with some KC cyclone v2's, and they fit on the prinsu cross bars without sitting too proud (or above the bars). My hatch wouldn't close if I moved the ssc2's lower, and an awnings prevented it from mounting them on the side of the rack.

if you have a double cross bar sitting vertical, you "might" not need any extra mounts for the cyclones. I didn't need any.

Installation was super easy and fairly inexpensive. I think i found my new favorite mod.

Where did you tap into for wiring these?

Did a refresh of the front suspension components that I've been hoarding before I sell the 4runner.

- Driver and Passenger side cams/bolts were seized so they had to be cut out before new LCAs could go in. New cams/bolts got a nice application of antiseize.
- New OEM LCAs, bushings were starting to look shot at 93,000 miles.
- New outer tie rods
- Replaced the driver side SPC balljoint as the boot was torn (was the OG balljoint from back in 2017)
- New set of Dobinson IMS struts, springs, tophats.
- New Overland Customs sway bar endlinks.

I had a similar issue with my liftgate window. in the really cold weather it would go down and then sometimes stop on the way up. one time I had to inch it up over the course of 5 minutes. replaced motor and regulator and that solved the problem. hopefully your issue was just some residual ice but unusual that it would only go down an inch vs. not at all

So far, it is working just fine. I'd hate to think that a window regulator in 55,000 mile Toyota would have already broken. A GM maybe ...

bought deez
40W 4000Lm ea.

Balmy Montana winter allowed me to replace the driver’s side front fender liner on the 2014 SR5:

A lot of work, very impressive.
I replaced my inner and outer tie rods this summer. Bought AC Delco brand cuz I couldn't justify the WACK price of OEM inner tie rods, specifically.
I have a new sku SPC SEALED Balljoint Replaced Kit waiting on the wings in garage. Have a balljoint separator tool I'm going to attempt to use for first time. Do you use a balljoint separator tool?

Did you go with OEM outer rod?
Did you get og zerk greased balljoints or new sealed model?
Thanks

SPC balljoints are super easy in regards to getting it out of the upper control arm. You should be able to get the balljoint out of the spindle with a couple good wacks with a hammer. If you have a balljoint separator then I would just use it, it's fairly simple and it would make quick work of the balljoint. I had a set of the revised SPC balljoints that still had the zerks that I bought a few years back but kept them in the vehicle as spares. I was surprised to find out that SPC went with a sealed unit to replace the re-greasable units.

I used oem outer tie rods.

Went and lubed my 4WD system at the local park just after the rains yesterday and today.

Great that it's in the toyota manual, always an excuse to use the all-wheel drive somewhere :bounce:

Done the first part of the anti-glare-hood-stamp today. With 3M 2080 wrap film in matte black and the 3M Knifeless Tape.

Maybe i will add an additional bar-like part in front of the scoop, e.g. with a TRD 4x4 logo or something similar.

Mine is not all wheel drive like the limited. Must manually shift in to 4hi or 4lo on the Pro, OR, ORP and SR5’s. I try to do it every 2-3 months, but not in the local park. First time. Too lazy to drive 30 minutes to a better off road area this time.
I have been contemplating an anti glare hood scoop decal for a while. Do you notice a big difference in glare reduction with it?
