You'll want some butyl rubber to re-seal the headlights and keep the moisture out. I think today was their last shipping day until the new year.

What did you get for gear? I've been looking for an excuse to pick up a set of the M-LED's but I can't stomach the $400 USD yet and my Canadian dealer doesn't have them.

After hearing the sound of my brake wear sensors screeching, I got my brakes done on all 4 wheels: new pads and had rotors turned and drums turned all for $389. Wow, drives like new. Dealer wanted $350 only to do rear drum brakes.

Very nice! That's a sh*t hot setup. I think you'll be very happy with it. I've dealt with TRS for years and have always had a good experience.

Synthetic is the way to go, I want one of the factor 55 prolinks, but I haven't been able to justify the cost yet. Hoping to pick one up used for cheaper somewhere.

Yeah, Santa didn't drop off any cool 4WD loot. I wanted to do it all at one time. I have not had any call to use the steel cable as of yet, but this will be a nice addition. I like what the flatlink offers and it looks easier that trying to make my smaller Warn hook work for various riggings. Masterpull is running a 25% off sale, and they are a local company to me, so I try to support my local economy when I can. Their Superline 5/16th has a breaking strength of 21,700 lbs. That should more than work for what I am doing. Now I can live on pasta and PB&J for a while to try to put the fire out in my wallet. lol. :flame:

Now I want to start saving my pennies and scoping out possibly doing an overland expo type thing this year.

I was super excited about going to the Overland Expo East 2 years ago. Until I saw the price. For the east one you had to pay admission to the Biltmore Estate, where they held it, pay for the Expo itself, pay to camp, etc. In the end it would have cost like $400 for two people to attend for a weekend, not even to do the full experience. Too much in my opinion when you still have to pay for food and everything else.

Hopefully you have a better experience trying to go, I'd love to go one day still.

HF is having a sale, so I wonder if the http://www.toyota-4runner.org/off-roading/248764-harbor-freight-winch.html#post2873483 is worth having under my ARB

I had one for a few years. It didn't get a ton of use but it never let me down. Always worked as it should. At least harbor freight has a good warrenty.

Ok, well, that IS a fair amount of coin for two people just to get you in the door. I had not gotten so far to consider the price just yet. Holy guacamole batman! It looks like the Overland West in Flagstaff, AZ is about $300-$325. Hrrrm... Ok, maybe just take that money and go on an adventure instead.

They are really good about going past the dates. at least they were.

Put some Falken Wildpeak At3w tires (265/75/16) on my 4runner today. Compared to the Duratracs, they look kinda....meh. In the ride and noise department, wow!, they ride like butter, for now anyway.

I had a courtesy brake check done by NTB, I wussed out and didn't feel like pulling the rear drums myself in the 21* weather this morning. I had only good news, the rears looked like they were serviced within the past year, both sides were dry of gear oil. I've already seen the fronts when I was doing the LBJ and OTRE but I didn't tell that to NTB, I wanted to see what they'd tell me.

I was told by them that the front rotors were getting close to discard thickness but they're still ok for now, which is exactly what I already knew. They wanted $100 to install rear shocks, so I passed on that. I'll lay on some cardboard next week and knock that job off of the list.
