Fixed the driver's door striker. I had a nasty rattle while going down bumpy roads and the "door open" light was always on (which meant I had to be careful not to leave the dome lights on) First I thought it was a bad switch, then possibly the latch getting worn. Then I had a simple epiphany: tighten the damn striker. Problem solved. The rear LH door was starting to loosen up too. Something to check out on yours!

I also fixed my Saturn Today. Apparently when the plugs go- they go all of the sudden. I went from running fine to running like garbage over the course of one drive. New plugs problem solved. Changed the oil and cleaned the TB while I was at it. Boy it sure is a pain in the ass getting underneath the car vs the runner!

If its sagging its probably not the bumper but the brackets. Or maybe even the body where the brackets attach. You could try bending them back slowly jacking up the truck from the brackets and see if you can bend it back.

I just finished putting some fancy Red brake lines from Wheelers on the Runner. Did it at a neighbor's who has all the nice tools for the job.
Also changed the oil and cleaned/adjusted the rear brakes.

Just saw this sorry. Yeah still stock and still working on the beefy ones. Have the bushings and the DOM tubing, just waiting for my buddy to get me into his machine shop to notch the ends then I can weld them together.

SOLD It! The new owner is very happy and has a great truck.

Mixed emotions seeing it go. It was a fantastic ride. And a really special example of one. Lots of fun and put to good use. It was our "test" of life with an SUV. We loved it and decided to make an SUV one of our main cars. We bought a 2012 Touareg TDI Executive.

Went to change the oil and rotate my tires only to find my drivers side cv boot has torn. So put the oil away, washed her, waxed her then parked her until I can get the new cv.

Here she is all shined up at least...

LOL I think I have 8000K miles on a torn boot now. Not easy miles either, been to the Gulches, Richland Road, Uwharrie National Forest 4 times....still going good with no noise

Lol I already have a grease mess under there from the spewing grease and its not my only vehicle so I just assume let her sit.

replaced my drivers side parking brake mechanism - bellcrank to cable. Lubed with silicone grease to hopefully keep it from binding up. Old bellcrank was completely frozen and wouldn't come apart, so all new bits.

Now I can hold the 4Runner on a slope and the engine at idle doesn't overpower the parking brake.

Passenger side is also a bit bound up but not as bad. I think it can wait.
