I replaced with a re-certified used CC from a place called Recatalitico. I assume they have some sort of scrap yard where they pull these things from, test them to verify they still work, then sell them to suckers like me. I figure that the chance for long-term success is about as good as with any after-market cat and this was cheaper (for both CCs). It has a decent amount of surface rust (not much worse than the one I took off though), but the engine seems to be breathing a bit easier - from what I could tell on my 15 minute drive into work. Hope it lasts!

Yesterday, my buddy Matt and I changed the struts/shocks on the t4r... changed the oil too since we were under there and it was just about time anyways

Changed my oil today and tried the funnel method to catch the oil from the filter. I think it was BTO who mentioned this but not sure. Well, it still spilled some but not as much. I guess there's no way to do it without making a mess...
While I was down there I noticed the second rib on my inner cv boots was rubbing a nice groove into the first rib. Spread the inner boots out so now there's space between the ribs and used a size 16 38mm hose clamp.

Haha my brother was under the car with me when I was taking out the bolt for the oil, and it sprayed all over his coat.
Why has no one invented an oil plug that comes out clean!?

put the last coats of paint on my new to me bud built. should have it installed by friday afternoon. considering i got it from [MENTION=8883]LINY4Runner[/MENTION], it needed some work...

Just so you know... The B&M Spin on Filter kit can be replaced by a NAPA Gold 1034 oil filter. I had a problem with the recommended's not being the same diameter as the stock B&M.

- as my daily driver, should i fix this ASAP or can i order my coilovers then fix it?
- Will coilovers keep this from happening again?
- does my diff drop just suck balls?
- the inside boot is the one that is torn i guess i gotta take it all out? this sucks ballz dammit!

I just did the left side in my truck. 175 $$$ , 35 minutes and it was done. Easy! The core was almost as much as the part it's self. Mine had that shit all over the truck, I'm still trying to get it all off.
