Took some of the forums' advice on replacement shafts instead of boots. $136 for four boots, no guarantee... $106 for re-manufactured axles with lifetime warranty... Yeah, you know what I did! 2hrs and 10min. I'll finish the right side tomorrow.

+1. I think I am due. Driver side is starting to have a burning smell at times. Have had a leaking boots for a while now.

Finally put my a/c back together. Had my passengers side interior torn apart for a couple months. Flushed all my lines and put in new condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, and drier. I had put in a new compressor a few months ago. Will charge the system this week at work.

And the dirty evaporator. This is actually how it looks after I cleaned it up a little. You couldn't even see any of the fins before, it was just caked in black crap. This is why new cars have cabin air filters so you aren't breathing all this nasty crap in.

I chose to have my stock driver side CV axel rebooted (with the Toyota inner+outer boot kit) when it started leaking. While I understand the appeal of a remanu part with a warranty, my CVs are fine and I dislike auto zone parts.

Spent the entire weekend finishing up my massive rust removal project on the underside. In addition, I also applied both the Internal Frame Coating from Eastwood and then a few coats of POR-15 over anything and everything metal. What a massive pain in the arse that was...

Next weekend, I spray the underside with spray-on bedliner...which I have a bad feeling will be quite messy.

Yeah true, I've heard many people having trouble with Auto Zone, but I have a really good one right next to me, and they have always done me right, 20+ years. The fact that they are Toyota parts, and have a lifetime warranty, it seemed like the best option.

Not a bad idea bud. But you need to get that cv fixed ASAP. A reboot from Toyota is 50 bucks
