What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

The front was just under 5 months, and the rear was just under 7 months from order to delivery. Seems like it's sort of luck of the draw with them, but I'd plan on a solid 6 months. Check out my build thread if you want some more pics of the front.

Am I the only one who thinks they have a ridiculous wait time? Don't get me wrong, I love their products but 7 months is just crazy to make someone wait. You can special order vehicles in less time or build entire houses. I dont know I wish their lead time was much shorter.

Tore out the old deck plate from previous owner...found out he did a HACKJOB on the airbox...i think he used a drill bit to cut

I have to rework his ISR too...its nothing but a purple plastic (maybe 2") tube with silicone EVERYWHERE.

Took his PA out too, wired for an aftermarket car alarm that has since been disabled. I messed it up trying to mess with the circuit board. hwell: So i got a little 25W coming my way soon

I don't really have a problem with the wait time (as you said, they make awesome stuff, and lots of people want it), but I think they could be more effective at communicating with the customer about it (though in other regards like technical questions etc they're quite good). Even if they told me "It'll be done when it's done...", it would less frustrating than providing multiple shipping estimates that are then missed by wide margins (at least in my experience).

Thanks man, I just saw yours in your build thread. Yours' came out awesome also! I need to look into that machine gray paint you are using. How would it look on the Tundra wheels? I need to redo mine soon.

Finally found the time

I finally got around to replacing the boots on both front axle CV's. I was really getting tired of watching both front axles bleeding out the greyish goo all over the under carriage. What a mess! It was a super easy repair but the grey, sticky snot gets all over the place. Let's see how long these new ones hold up...:suspicious:

I cleaned my MAF sensor today.

i cleaned mine twice in 2 weeks. removed from housing. sprayed it, gave it a few seconds, etc @ 10 times. really saturated the thing. saw brown stuff melting away. figured 'hey, I've got a clean maf.'
Wrong. week later mechanic was checking for conditions causing low mpg. besides a couple of large vacuum leaks, he cleaned the maf because it was filthy. but i had just cleaned it twice, thoroughly. they used solvent (maf cleaner?) and a pipe cleaner and actually (gently) scrubbed it. i understood sensor is never to be touched, but the deft hand of an experienced pro avoids damage.
now it is actually clean. just saying'.

bushings

friday: bought Sequioa 213mm front calipers (13WL) with new pads from local junk yard ($100). ordered oem replacement engine mounts.
saturday: checked torque of steering rack bolts. replaced rack bushings 2 months ago. removed newly installed and incorrect end link bushings and replaced with correct ones (Energy Suspension 9.8105). cleaned engine/front undercarriage and washed exterior.

Heading to Cincinnati to get a nice jeep YJ seat to put in a 3rd row.
Put some 2000 headlights in the other day and got an overhead console to throw in too.

Thanks dude! Yeah i did make them myself, one factory bushing, one Summit Machine flex joint, and some .250 wall tubing. Everything is TIG welded using Argon as my cover gas.

On friday actually....

Oil change....what pita with that filter. Fixed a loose control arm....don't ask...installer error. lol. Installed 8 wrap rear coils and Icon rear shocks....now it sits way too high! Lol
