Finally got my CB set up!

Started the tear down for the lift, LBJs, sway bushings, rack bushings,diff breather extension, rear brake shoes, and13wl brake conversion

Got my Uniden 520XL and Little Wil' all set up.
Still need a 90* elbow (or solder in a different connector)
but otherwise ready to go

Had a little free time tonight so I finally put my skid plates back on, removed my running boards, and cut the excess mud flap off. Gives me that good feeling like a fresh haircut does :mullet:





I'll grab the "after" side shot tomorrow.

installed a new yellow top(warrantied the last one cause i was about to run out of my 3 year), and installed a hard wire charging port for my noco genius 3500(also picked up another one of those for $40). had my tires flipped, so the outsides are no the insides, to prolong tread life and promote more even wear. today im gonna install my new rear drive shaft, and take back my old CVs for another new set.

Makes sense. I didn't consider your locale. I have the Veteran and Sierra Mountain bias where a radio has actually been useful.

I know you guys are in indianapolis and prob don't have use for a CB, but I figured I'd bring this up lol - When I went to the Marlin Round-up at Rubicon, not a single person was using a CB... in over 200 trucks LOL I felt so behind the times communication wise. Anyone and everyone who had comms had a HAM. Mmmmmm ham.

does it count if you worked on someone elses 4runner? turned some wrenches on my dads 4runner(sold it to him, and i get to do the maintenance, hahaha). replaced the cv joints, and a surprise sway end link change (good thing i had some spares on hand). found another fun surprise though... leak in the driver's rear axle... yay?

My sympathy goes out to you... I know exactly what you're going through. My Superwinch has been sitting in my garage for over a week waiting for my Shrockworks bumper. I went ahead and mounted my solenoid under the hood and clocked the free spool lever so that it's ready for a quick install.

I saw that. It looked really nice but unfortunately I can't do the same as my 96 doesn't have the same space as yours or I would have followed suit. I eyed a superwinch from amazon about a month but went with an Engo instead only because Metaltech carries them.

Tomorrow, we will be headed to Lead king Basin to camp/hike/4wheel and take pics of the Crystal Mill. The more I get out, the more I love being without cell service

I eyed a superwinch from amazon about a month but went with an Engo instead only because Metaltech carries them.

I was able to get a good deal from etrailer.com. They offer a price match plus 10% off the best price you can find. I found it cheaper at truckaddons.com. They honored the price pledge and I got I for $872. (Retail was $1079)

I'm waiting on some 2 gauge wire to come in so I can complete the wiring on the solenoid relocation. I really need to put all of this into a build thread.

I just watched a youtube video of that area and it looks pretty cool. When I bought my 4runner I had plans to drive to telluride but life got in the way and the trip never happened. I still have the book I bought for the trip with maps of tons of mountain passes in Colorado which I open every once in a while and dream of what could have been. As impossible as it seems right now I haven't given up hope that I may still make the trip in the 4runner someday.
