What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

After battling my rear shocks through the night by 4am I finally had my rear lift on. Nothing better than being sleep deprived while hacking away, Lets see if I can find the motivation to start the fronts...

I used my 3rd gen today to start and finish my Christmas shopping. I am sure it is a record.

I messed around with one of my junk piles a little. My white 97 Limited had been in the hands of a hack before I got it, they pulled the 4wd shifter out at one time and pulled the wires out that go to the push button 4wd. So, it only had 2wheel hi and 4low. I had a switch laying around so I wired it up to atleast have 4hi temporarily. And since I was messing around I went ahead and did the blue (grey) wire mod for the electric locker. Then, of course, had to do a little testing!

Still working on getting the cruise control to work but I can confirm the 3 spoke toyota steering wheels will connect to the 98+ clockspring and the airbag works!! I plan on doing a complete diy thread once I have the cruise control working..

It basically is.. The rav4 98-00, supra 98+, trd 98+, celica 00-05, corolla 03-05 and is300 are the same wheel minus the trim and airbag design for the is300. The is300 and some celica have a really nice leather wrap. The rav4 wheel I have posted is the same material and the automatic shifter knob.. Hard plastic.

I had originally bought a is300 steering wheel but the rav4 airbag didnt really fit the is300 steering wheel correctly.. Im not to happy with it compared the is300 wheel but I came across a really good deal so it makes up for it for now..

I just couldn't afford the gas anymore (14 highway). I'm going to test the waters in the Subaru world for awhile. I found an extremely low miles manual 5-speed 2005 Forester XT, which is a Forester with the 2.5L Turbocharged WRX engine (but with full leather, heated seats and massive sunroof). I'll probably end up back in a 3rd gen before too long though, but I need this Forester's 30 mpg highway until I finish my out of state education. Plus the speed and endless mods for it will be a ton of fun. Eventually my goal is to have a built Toyota and a quick Subaru.
