What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Replaced shift solenoid A. 5 quarts can out , I thought it would have been less. Fluid looked good though. No pics, I forgot my phone.

Swapped my 10" sub from tacoma to 4runner. I was excited because previous owner had wiring run cleanly all the way to the back. I wasn't thrilled about 8 gauge wire but my amp isn't too big, and I never crank it. Unfortunately when I popped the hood I saw the one incredibly stupid thing he did.
Assuming that wire is 2+ years old, I'm surprised that it was in no way chafed. I'll use it later for some auxiliary lighting or whatever. So, since I was stealing the sub and amp from my tacoma, I just took the 4 gauge wire out of it and ran it properly through grommet, stole ground from taco, and then realized PO had run the rcas between the back seats. As a result, one of the two wires had been chopped cleanly through. Twisted together to test and have some satisfaction but it cuts out periodically and bass diminishes. I'll steal the rcas from tacoma tomorrow, run that, and lastly steal the taco's double din touch streen.
PS - what is that black thing on the left side of my photo? the large circular black deal on drivers side. I changed my oil and installed fumoto drain valve (first change since purchase) last week and since then I've had some serious ticking from under the hood. Today I finally gave it a good listen and it's coming from that black thing, which I'm cool with since it's not the motor... just a coincidence I guess. Would like to research it a little more, just dunno what it's called. My oil level is fine so before I realized where it was coming from, I assumed the previous owner had changed it with the thickest oil known to man before selling it to me

the black circular thing is the brake booster.

Two milestones for me today 
I aired down for the first time today. Its was amazing.....
I went down to 17 psi so I wouldn't pop the bead, after just one time I'm looking into getting the arb air compressor(I have a "slime" one I borrowed from my dad. It was really slow and a plug in but it got the job done, after about 10 minutes total.
While aired down I rock crawled for the first time, which was also amazing.
Except for when I got scared because i slammed down onto my hitch and pooped my pants. Also every time my front would go off a ledge I was afraid of slamming onto my running boards. After crawling for about an hour and a half I decided ive had enough.... I'm taking off my running boards tomorrow and buying sliders and an air compressor ASAP. It was a pretty fun day. It feels like every time I wheel I have more and more fun each time I go. Also my buddies jeep got stuck sideways on a trail not much wider then a 4runner.

I did it last week. But finally got around to posting it up. I made some brackets to mount a flag for when I go to the dunes.

I would recommend sealing that up with silicone. Also, pull the carpet on the driver side there and see if there's any signs of it leaking.
I'm pretty sure mine was leaking from that spot... for years, long before I bought it in 2007. My floor boards were rusted on the driver side from it (and mold).
Went out to Tuttle Creek ORV Park here in Manhattan, KS with some of my friends here at KSU. Some of the Johnson County (Kansas City area) guys had never been offroad. I'm glad they got their first offroad adventure in my T4R! Time to do a couple mods and get them back out there soon.

Just ordered way to much stuff for the 4Runner, cant wait for the UPS guy, 2 Optima Yellow tops, T-Maxx Battry Controller, 63q Edgestar Fridge, Snorkel Pre Filter, Tubing to finish up the sliders, and depending how much money is left. Im going to buy either a winch, compressor, or tank less water heater and dot propane tank for an on board shower setup.
And forgot to add even though its not 4Runner related bought a new AR and built another AK.

I installed whiteline LCA bushings and new rack bushings. I saw someone used the factory bottle jack to press out the old bushings and that really works. I was impressed how well it worked. Then I just hammered in the new ones which went in without a hitch. Rack bushings were a PITA, but they are on. I am going to do a oil change, realign it, and powerwash the dirty undercarriage on Tuesday when I go back to work.

Added 2nd layer of sound proofing to all 4 doors.
The foam is sticky on one side so its easy to install. The part that takes forever is cutting each piece to fit into the door crevices. I ened up bringing the panels inside and doing most of the cutting in my living room. 4 hours later all doors were done.

The open cell foam really helps swallow up the road noise
