One of the two Costcos I use have done away with Kirkland batteries and now are stocking a more limited selection of Interstates.

Yeah, my bad. It is an interstate battery. I have a Kirkland brand in my pickup and it still works amazing.

My ten year old optima is still kicking, I though "dam" did so good I got another.....hahaha hecho en Mexico lasted 1 year and had problems WTF!

I use the 35W 6K D2S's from DDM tuning. Had great luck so far, only replaced 1 bulb in the ~ 5 years i've had them installed. Somebody was talking about a flicker experience once... except for when they turn on, I've never seen a "flicker" of my lights output, only the squinting white reflection of a few douchbag's faces that didn't turn off there high beams!

Haha I love the old d-bag flash technique lol (jk i try to keep the to a minimum because if they cant see they could wreck my truck lol) DDM from what I have seen is ok, but I have seen them flicker. My VVME kits flicker from time to time too, but like I said NBD since they are just for throwing as much light as possible lol.

A friend had to return two Optima reds he bought for his truck within a year of buying them from Advanced Auto. The manager said they average 4 Optima returns a month. No more Optima for him for he now runs a Autocraft AGM with no issues.

A fishing friend of mine was 120 miles offshore of the OuterBanks when both his marine Optimas failed him.

I have always had good success with JCI made Walmart batteries for marine and auto FWIW.

Good to know.....I feel like a dirtbag but before I had to sell my beloved '86 runner I swapped the American made with the Mexico made. So now I have put one more year on the old battery still no problems....we will see how the winter treats us, I'm getting to the point where I don't want to rely on an old battery.....I think 11 years it's bout time to just get a new one.....

DRL Disable MOD 2.0

Installed my new Toyota Solara headlight stalk today. This has a built in DRL OFF feature on the headlight stalk. Nice clean look, and the DRL's will work if they need to.

Wow.. that's a pretty slick little mod for the DRL's. Nice work there. Thanks for the info. I might put that on my list of possible mods in the future. I like it.



To keep with the topic.. today for my 3rd gen I continued my LED conversion (I have a dislike for stock bulbs).
I found out shortly after buying my 3rd Gen that both parking corner lights were burnt out.. I didn't even realize it (because the blinkers still work in the bumper). But now that I realized it, I ordered up these handy dandy amber LED's and I'm stoked on them. They install easy and look quite well (during the day). I'll check tonight to see if I truly enjoy the output of them.

So now that makes interior domes (check), rear turn signals (check) and front parking lights (check). Front turn signals, brake lights, and dash lights remain to be changed.

Replaced the (original i assume) fuel filter this week with almost 225,000miles on the engine. I noticed an immediate increase in power and smoother revs in the low rpm ranges where i had a small hesitation or stumbling feeling before.

Well worth the cost of a new filter and some time under the truck. Highly recommended for anyone that doesn't know when the last time their filter was changed!

Took the 2001 Tail lights and harness'. I didn't want to cut my harness for the reverse lights.

I also swapped out the year old diehard battery it had too. I was going to do the center console as well, but I don't want to mess with re-pinning wiring and lengthening it all.
