What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I picked up my winter tires on Taco wheels. 245/75R16 Cooper M+S. I am a pretty practical guy when it comes to my DD. I will be glad to put the Suicide Terrains aka Rugged Terrains away for a few months!

I have those on my cummins with studs on all 4 tires. It will climb up a tree or knock it over in the snow with those tires.

They are soft and ware fast. I only put them on my truck at first ice or snow storm.

Yesterday I picked up the lowest mileage 5 speed that I have seen for sale in a long time. It's a 99 with 89k miles and 1 owner vehicle. This thing drives like it is new! I can't wait to slap the supercharger on it that I have sitting in my garage

So uh... How long is this one going to last?

Spent 6 1/2 hours buffing out the pin stripes from off-roading in the Ozarks. Man does it look sweet!!! Monday night I'm repainting the silver trim. (But I'm way too old for this kind of work - I'm beat!)

(looks like a base model with the door molding but an SR5 with the color matched door handles)

It's a 3.4 SR5 pretty much loaded out except for the rear locker and leather. I wish it had the locker but 5 speeds are becoming scarce so I took what I could find lol.

I sold a couple of my other ones in the past to help my grandmother pay some medical bills but she got it all taken care of now and I got most of my money back so I thought I would spend a little extra a get a really low mileage one. I've always wanted a 5 speed white 99-00 since I got into 4runners so this one is definitely a keeper. I would be very dumb to let this one go lol.

Got the 'new' 3rd member in. Gotta finish it all up tomorrow. Went in a heck of a lot easier than the old one was to get out. Took a few pics of what I'd read but not seen because why not?

Sway Away c/o's that were on the '96 installed and adjusted to 2.5" of Lift. Also got a Firestone lifetime alignment. Rear will get done next (890's and 5125's).

Washed her and gave her fresh coat of wax. Btw it's easier to do by hand than use a cheap buffer.

One problem after a failed alternator...

Installed a new alternator today--now that I know how to take off the belts, I'll be replacing all the drive belts tomorrow.

but...I have one problem...

While the 4runner was out of commission for a couple days until I had time to swap out the alternator, I drove my sister's spare car, and it had heated seats.

Looks like the next mod will be heated seats. There's no way I can go back to life without them.

Today I replaced my stock bushings with energy suspension poly bushings. It was fun!

Had more adventures in locker actuators than I felt the need for....

....worked on it tonight. Magnets are back in and the rotor does clear them....we'll see if it's going to work after the epoxy has time to set. As much as this seems to happen there's not as much written about it (that I found) as I would have thought. Curious as to whether this fix will work and how long it will last if it does work. Also curious if the broken magnet bit will be a problem.
