I removed the running boards and replaced my lbj's. The latter was definitley the more difficult undertaking but with help from the forum it was accomplished finally.

TBU and spacers.

I got some 13wl calipers and rotors from a sequoia for $50. I got my rack bushings and itres all going on tomorrow. Right now I've got her on stands. Happy New Years t4r.org

Finally go around to replacing the washer fluid hoses that had deteriorated. And arrested the the water leaking into the passenger footwell from the evaporator box. It's the little things.

Checked all the fluids, added some air to the front tires, and took it for a drive. Father in law is now the driver of my Runner and will be driving from Dallas to El Paso tomorrow.

Took it to the woods to see where the 315s rub and do a little hunting. Just got done replacing the power steering pump.... Had a heck of a time getting the banjo bolt out. Still need to work the air out, but the whine is gone!

So not really something I did today, but something I did a few days ago. I know I'm getting old, because for Christmas I asked santa for parts for my 4runner and socks.
For the 4runner I asked for a transmission cooler to prevent the dreaded pink milkshake, and a set of tundra disk breaks for the front. They are in, but I have yet to install them. I don't really trust myself doing the breaks, because if I mess up that's kind of death waiting to happen.
I also asked for new air fuel and oxygen sensors to see if that would fix the annoying P0420 code that has been causing my gage cluster to light up like a Christmas tree. The fuel air sensor was easy, a bit of PB blaster, a wrench* and a small amount of elbow grease and it came right off. Easiest work I've done on anything. The oxygen sensor on the other hand was a bit harder. I borrowed an oxygen sensor socket from my friend, and drenched it in PB blaster, but in the battle of socket vs sensor the sensor came out victorious. Cracked the socket right down the side. Luckily he isn't a cheapskate, and buys snapon, so I don't have to pay for a new one, yay! Next I tried even more PB blaster and a good old fashioned 7/8 wrench. The wrench started winning, but in the bad way, it started rounding off the bolt. I decided it was time to throw in the towel and take it to a shop. The mechanic crawls underneath my baby,* is under there for about 3 seconds, and gets it off. He said I loosened it for him. I still think he cheated.
Any way, long story short, I cleared the code and have been driving around for about a week, and it hasn't came back yet. Fingers crossed!

In order to keep this post consistent with the theme, here's what I did today: went with a couple buddies to this place called the compound. Redneck heaven, and the closest thing to offroading there is around here in Florida. I did get stuck in a mud puddle, I will admit, darn open differentials. And I also failed a couple hill climbs due to the underside of my baby preventing me from getting over humps on the hills. Looks like it's time to start researching lift kits. Pictured is my buddy's range rover before he had to pull me out of the mud. Thank god he wasn't driving a jeep, if I had to admit I got pulled out by a jeep I may have had to cry a little.

Should just be able to lift the front tires off the ground and work the wheel lock to lock. Make sure they are off, put a load on the pump and your gonna be cleaning the engine bay.

Replaced inner and outer tie rods and drive belts. Not bad at all. 2 hours for everything. Of course I used the lift at work so made things much easier.
