hahah thanks!!! my mechanic/uncle ordered it directly from Toyota. PM me if youd like me to dig up the receipt if youre interested in ordering one. I paid $1500 including freight shipping
That's really not bad at all. If I hadn't just had mine rebuilt, I might take you up on it! [emoji106]

In the last 2 days:
New starter, trans cooler, badly needed oil change and wash, and 2 new U joints. Done spending money on this thing for a while.

Maintenance wash after off-roading...

I attempted to swap out my OME 906s and billy 5100s for some 7.5 wraps and tokicos, but failed miserably. Apparently I need to get some taller jack stands, my little aluminum 3 tons are short as hell.

New double din 6.2 inch Dual head unit. Then some 6.5 Concepts I had went into the rear doors. I also had this 10" Pioneer sub and and Boss 1500 watt mono amp laying around so that went in the back. I managed to mount the sub with a small 13x13x2 enclosure I made bolted over the storage compartment on the rear passenger side. As luck would have it while I had the panels off I managed to hide the amp between the outside fender and the inside sheet metal the panel fastens into. A few self tappers and it seems damn secure. I little DAP just for added insurance. It was over 100 here today and the amp didn't overheat at all in that location which, honestly, was a concern with the install. The only things that needed a small trim where the rear door panels and about 1/2" of the rear access panel recess. It could all go back to stock tomorrow and the only visible signs would be the 4 bolt holes I had to drill in the rear panel to mount the enclosure.

And yes I know it's worthless without pics but it's dark and I'm lazy. Live with it. If people would like to see a full write up on the install I good probably make that happen eventually.

Haha I had the same issue when I put my LC coils in. You need 6 ton jackstands. You can get a set at advanced auto for like $30 if you use an online coupon code and pick up in store.

Hopefully I don't have too much trouble getting my OME 861's in. Might have to rent a spring compressor to make them a tad shorter even.

I'm gonna have to try that stuff out. The stuff I used worked okay, but it wasn't quite aggressive enough.

You might try using a pre-treat solution like the ones carpet cleaners use. Something like this:

Undiluted solution made for use in carpet shampooers works almost almost as well. Requires rinsing.

The other thing that works (depending on what made the stain - works well on motor oil and grease) is a 50/50 water/ammonia mix with a few drops of (Dawn) dish detergent. Keep it wet for a while, scrub it around, pour a little water on it and pick it up with a shop vac.

Probably not the safest but I just used some blocks of wood under the jack stand. Worked out ok.

Got new (to me) wheels & tires for a steal, 285/75/16 Discoverer ATP's mounted on ATX Mojave Teflon wheels.

I think I'm gonna keep the tires but ditch the wheels for my factory Sport wheels. I'm just concerned I'll rub the UCA with no spacers...

Took the pictures today. Over the last few days installed new oem lbj's with new bolts, brembro rotors with stock pads, outer tie rod, ome 906's, tundra trd coils, and tundra Bilstein 5100's all around. Never done anything like this before. Had Wheeler's Offroad assemble the struts, so I didn't have to compress the springs. Many thanks to this site--especially Speedy's and mtbtim for their videos. Notice that the rear shocks aren't pictured--had to cut those bad boys off. Cheers

Nice! I'm new to the forum. I'm looking to replace pads and rotors on a '97 with the larger rotors (16" wheels).

What would you guys recommend for rotors for heavy use? This truck travels down mountain/canyon roads frequently and seems to warp rotors easily. I want something more resistant to heat. Is that more indicative of the rotor choice (metal compounds, ceramic coating, high carbon, etc.) or the pad choice? Or both? I just need something more robust, but economically priced.

Autozone usually sells a high carbon rotor and a ceramic pad, but they only sell that rotor in the 297mm size for 15" wheels?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

How mechanically savvy are you? I haven't done it personally, but a lot of guys on here have done the tundra brake upgrade. It essentially involves replacing the calipers and rotors with tundra calipers and rotors. Just search "tundra brake upgrade" and you should find it. The tundra calipers are much thicker and less resistant to warping.

I will definitely check that out. Have you done a shampoo of the inside? Do you think it's worth pulling the carpet out, or just leave it in?

Dang. That looks great! What cleaner did you use? I used a Bissel carpet cleaner and a carpet brush to do my carpet and seats, and it turned out pretty well.

Lol my seats look brand new. I took them all out, soaked them, sprayed them with a food grade industrial cleaner, and pressure washed them @ 1000 psi. Took forever to dry but it was totally worth it.
