Yes i am waiting to build a roof rack. But alot of people say that about getting stuck back there. But im a little guy. I can crawl to the back no problem. Will relocate once i get a rack, then use same mounting for something else.

Whatever suits you. I wouldn't want to crawl with dirty shoes. Only down side with shovel outside. Is if it's rusty. When it rains the rust can drip down on your window. I ended up having a little line that's impossible to get of the window. Like a trail of water drop /rust

This is what prompted me to replace the oem lift gate supports. I clocked my dome real good one day walking around the car looking for a wrench in the back during a fuel pump replacement. Damn lift gate stopped about 6" from the top and WHAM, rammed my forehead and jarred my mouth real good. Started licking my teeth thinking I must've chipped one it was so bad, but luckily they were all intact. Ordered some new supports the same day!
Luckily there's no shovel on mine or that would've been icing on the cake. Lol

Blew out the drivers side outer CV boot. In the process of getting two CV axles, both LBJ's and the bolts for the LBJ's. Now I'm debating whether to also replace the inner and outer tie rod ends while I'm doing this. There are no lifetime alignment places where I live and $130 an alignment gets expensive fast.
I'll also need new tires within the next 10,000 miles or so. So, do I just live with the CV boot rip and wheel till it breaks or the tires get replaced or do it now? Time for a coin toss I guess. lol

I suppose the drain plug on my cooler must have gotten loose because when I went to take it out after the weekend, I noticed the cargo floor mat was a bit damp. I thought it was just a little excess water from a few renegade ice cubes that got loose, but it seems it was much more than that. I opened my cargo door this morning to the smell of moldyour water. Yippee!
Had to go to work and deal with it later. Turns out it was a fair amount of water. Enough to soak through to the carpet. And now I am really kicking myself for not opting for the WeathTech cargo mat when I ordered the front and rears...
Lol. I'm hoping the fan will help dry it out overnight.

5-11 but my lift gate doesn't stay at the top; especially when cold.
Just park it inside a giant bag of rice for a day.

Make sure it's Japanese rice! Don't cheap out and get the Chinese stuff...we all know how that goes...
Don't be lazy. Remove the back seats and pull it outside and let it dry. Guarantee the water is under also. You don't moldy carpet. Plus water on metal.

Yeah, cargo carpet is easy enough to take out. I've taken mine out and pressure washed it a couple of times.
Pins Pop off the back of the seats.
Just remove the sill at the lift gate
Should come right out.

Changed the inner axle seal and o-ring on the passenger's side, rebuilt the back brakes with new shoes, drums, wheel cylinders, and hardware, and changed out the rear diff oil. I'm discovering that this is a pretty common bit of maintenance.

I authorized my local dealership to do a $2300 rear differential replacement. Ouch.
Normally I'd take care of something like this myself, but I don't have a garage space right now, and I'm covered up with work. Financially it makes more sense for me to pay to have it done than to turn down work to have time to do it, but damn it hurts to write a check like that for something I'm perfectly capable of doing. :cry2:

It's been making a noise for about the last 5-7k miles. It started on a road trip to VA, and I had to finish it and get it home. Shortly after that I had to move out of the place I was in on short notice, and the new place doesn't have a garage. My work schedule has been crazy (which is fine because I'm self employed) so I just haven't had time to deal with it.
So I knew the noise was driveshaft related, because it was rotating faster than the axles, and this was obvious at low speeds. It looks like the pinion bearing failed, and I've driven it long enough to really screw things up. But I didn't really have a choice in that, because my car was in IN where I've been working for the whole summer.
The dealership is right by my house, and has a great reputation. I didn't have time to find a reputable indy shop (most are shady has hell in S. FL), and I don't want to take a chance on someone trying to rebuild the 3rd member and have it fail down the road at an inopportune time.
Oh, and I need the truck back in a week and the dealership can do that. At this point the extra cost is outweighed by the piece of mind and the timeframe for the repair. I'm fully aware I'm paying more than I need to for this, but I have leaking axle seals that will be fixed in the process, so I'm OK with it
