I considered buying train horns for my runner today. I looked into hornblasters . com and found a kit for like 500 bucks and can install myself. I am doing this because I want an air compressor mounted so I can refill my tires when I air down offroad and also want to scare the **** out the person in front of me stopped at the green light!! :flipoff:

Added a transmission temp gauge to the T4r today.

Edited: Didnt like the dash location left of the steering wheel and moved it to the center console. Also changed the gauge from a Glowshift to an Autometer and installed an LED amber light bulb. Looks so much better now. I sourced a used knee panel from ebay for $25 to fix the gaff in the dash.

I put on abvout 130 Miles today I have to say that the ride is very comfy. I asked around to a lot of people and they suggested the "comfy Bilsteins and the soft coils... good think i listened- for a change...
she just turned 140k on the ODO today..

Had a flat yesterday. Took it to Discount to patch. Got it home and noticed they put the tire on backwards ( white letters facing out). So I had to go back there today, then I got home and detailed it...man was it dirty!

that happaned to me on my company car.... Boneheads.... they are at goodyear... i hope that they dont do that to me when i goes in there for my Duratracs.. actually i dont think they can.. but know me and my luck..

got the hood re-painted! it was getting really faded and was starting to peel. Also took her on a camping trip to the North GA mountains.

That's a smart idea reversing the seat cushions. Was it hard to do? I have cloth but the fabric is starting to tear on the outer lower seat cushion.

Completed this weekend,
Custom painted center caps (yes, rims will be painted to match soon enough):

Custom painted gold toyota badge silver:

Removed headlight covers and cleaned off every last spec of glue with razorblade:

Completed de-badging of gold emblems, also removed the license plate trim and painted it Metallic Black. I also painted all the badges black, we'll see which ones I decide to reinstall. Currently I am digging the bare look.

Installed my old trusty Alpine CDA-9813 from my Jeep into my new Runner.

Same one I've got in my runner... bought it used almost 5 years ago for $100. Great deck other than it barely spits CD's out far enough for me to grab and pull them the rest of the way out.


I didn't do anything to my 4Runner today, but I did price a set of Silent Armors and Duratracs for it yesterday.

Excellent choice! Did you get the attachment to plug in your ipod using the cd changer line? Another flaw is how effing hot the thing gets, but that's how it gets the sound, MO POWA

SA's are good tires, had them on my 1st gen, and I have 4x 265/70's in my basement @ 50% for spares on the 3rd gen. Will make great trail tires if I ever want to try some rock crawling. Of course 295/75/16 Duratracs are the long term plan, but that requires spacers and trimming. I don't want a lift, I would rather be low and wide.

Does anybody know if the HVAC controls 97'(left to right levers) can be swapped with the HVAC controls with the rotary controls?
I'm thinking not, but i was just curious... cant stand levers.. rotary looks and probally works so much better.
