What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Washed my T4R after having some fun yesterday driving through flooded streets and almost getting stuck in some mud! Also, I'm blacking out all my emblems and rear license plate holder. I'll post some pics later.

changed out the oil in the front and rear diffs, and the transfer case. auto trans fluid and tune up is next.

Hopefully fixed an annoying suspension 'clunking' noise by tightening my sway bar end links. One was loose at the bottom (really loose) and the other loose at the top, go figure.

Correction, REPLACED sway bar end link... driver's side wouldn't budge so I cut it off and put on a Duralast one. Clunking gone!!!:driving:

I installed my new head unit with NAV and DVD playback. Also ran my cb radio antenna wire to the back and installed my cb in the ashtray.

I replaced the sway bar bushings finally. Man it makes huge difference. I still don't understand why it took me so long to get this done.

Planning for road trip

Finished my suspension work and my cargo box-sleeping platform mod, compounded and waxed the white beauty, and started packing my cargo box drawers for my upcoming road trip to Olympic National Park next week.

I just finished putting in my SAW 2.0's 30 minutes ago. I had to wait till the Fiance left and my daughter fell asleep. Unfortunately she didn't go to sleep till 10:30, but I got the front swapped in 1.5 hours from grabbing the jack to putting the last tool away. Not bad especially since my dad stopped by to talk. Haven't taken it on a drive yet though.

Also in my rush to get it done, I completely forgot to do before and after measurements. So annoyed at myself.

I finally ordered the FRONT bumper from shockworks... now all i have to do is to wait the estimated 2-3 months for it to arrive at the shop. Front ordered, rear ordered, rockrails here...
Now the wait...

My Wife and I have spent tons of time in Olympic National Park, its one of the best Parks on the wet coast... camping in the Hoh Rain forest, Thunder Ridge, Rialto/Ruby Beaches... the trails-- hiking.... fantastic!!! If you have time check out Whidbey Island -- there's a great State Park campground with a view of the bridge over Deception Pass....

Rust protecting

Pulled the rear bumper off yesterday and I now in the process of coating the inside of the bumpers and supports with Rust Bullet. I snapped off 2 bolts in the process :redbrick: but drilled them and re-tapped the threads... I hope this stuff works as I'm introducing my 'new' truck to a much more 'corrosive' enviroment as it came from...

i work in mukilteo the little town on the way out to whibey, pm me if you want to meet up for lunch or anything, i know of some really cool cabind you can rent for cheap about 15 mi from the park, they are cheap, like $45 a night and are right on the coast, in la push, anyways i can tell you more in a pm if you;d like.

I pulled the seats and carpets out today, so I could sand the driver side front floor board and hit it with a coat of Rust-O-Leum Rust Proofer. Also cleaned up some mold that had grew under the driver side carpet.

Also hit the tip of my windshielf wipers with some gloss black Rust-O-Leum to cover up the flaked paint/rust that was on them.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I will run into you and/or izzardking on my adventure. I will definitely take your advice about touring around the park. I plan to spend a whole week there before heading south on the coast back to CA. My cargo box is the coolest mod I have done so far. Those 36" drawers are amazing. I am driving from CA to Portland with my son and his GF, and then heading on to ONP by myself. Before I leave Portland, I am putting my rear seat cushions in a box and sending them back to CA by mail so I can have that extra 5" of length for the bed. Can't wait.

I disassembled the hubs and cleaned them. I also made sure I they weren't missing any parts. I'm thinking of having the black ring and silver center sandblasted and powder coated.
