What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Any possible negative effects? My thermostat is a 180, was thinking of changing it as well. Supposedly, 170 thermostats are TRD parts (at least for 3RZ).

For the 3.4, the TRD thermostat is a 160*, for a 170 you need to buy the stant one. That is way too cold IMO though. I have the 170 and my average water temps are low-mid 180's. A little lower than I would like to be..

So far no, it warms up just as fast, i did a temp test with a tester cap and the thermostat opened around 175, and the engine temp was a consistent 185-195. On steep hills in 4th gear it gets up to 198 but that's the highest i've seen.
She runs a lot better too with the lower temp, i also changed from the green coolant to toyota red so that might've done something to it but im not sure.

on the drive home today was between 188-194 and she runs awesome, so i dont see any thing wrong with that.

Those are the ideal numbers, I think its becuase I added water wetter that I am lower. oh well, nice job on the radiator Eric!

Prepped for Deer Springs tomorrow. Then crushed my toe with a Hi-Lift jack. That hurt. Now I know how to use it though.

yeah seems like 50% toyota red and 50% distilled water works well. lol thanks you shoulda seen the old radiator, there was at least 3lbs of mud in there.

Replaced passenger front brake hose and brake line to caliper. Sucked to find out I needed it replaced in rush hour traffic. :wtf: Luckily I had some vice grips to keep it from leaking till I could get parts for it today.

Put all 99 tall springs and shocks on with Daystar 1" spacers a week ago. Took my Daystar spacers off today!!! Wow they made my truck super JITTERY. Live and learn. I then detailed the s**t out of it. Much better. EDIT: Anybody want to buy some slightly used spacers? HA

Took it to Deer Springs, I wish I took pictures. Two wheels in the air at all time, which isn't good when you have open diffs. According to my spotter, I almost rolled it, twice.
