You do realize this isn't my first rodeo and I'm well aware what I'm doing to my own vehicle, and as I've stated before, this isn't the first time I've tinted a windshield?
And since you're apparently very undeducated on window tint, here's an article. So read the article, figure out how it works, put foot in mouth, and realize that the percentage of window tint is the amount of light the tint abosorbs, or reflects. Tint is 2 sided, and often reflective. So just because you have a very hard time seeing IN the car, doesn't mean you have a very hard time seeing OUT of the car. K, thnx bye.

and another, that I found in 30 seconds of googling. Might consider doing something of the sort before you jump on somebody about something you clearly (or in your mind, tinted) don't know much about.

I may install it like you did but for now this works. Also threw in a pic of my ultraguage location for farmerjon and others trying to decide where to put it.

Hows the light output with those LED bars? I love the looks of them but want to make sure they're plenty bright, too. All the reviews I've read are sort of mixed.
Both articles (which essentially are the same article with a few minor modifications, one on the website of a company selling tint) clearly state that VLT is a percentage of light allowed to pass through the film. So- the 35% tint you have selected will allow 35% of the normal amount of light to pass through. Therefore 65% of light does NOT pass through. So- since humans see by photoreceptors in the retina please explain how one can see equally well with 65% of the source of our sight filtered out.
Am I missing something?

If he wants to tint his windshield, let him. If you don't, don't...no one cares. People come to this thread to see what people "have done" to their runner today, not to read useless arguments.
Moving on, here is a pic of the Ultra Gauge at night. I think the location works great, I can see it perfectly between the steering wheel.
Still need to calibrate the MPG functions, but I like knowing actual engine temps and battery voltage.

Ah, I didn't know you knew what kind of tint I used, since it varies. I never once said I can see "equally as well", so stop putting words in my mouth. I just stated it's not a "drastic limitation" or anywhere near enough concern at night, especially with HID headlights. Will it limit my vision at night? Yes. Will it limit it enough to warrant the tampons all you guys need at the moment? Not even close. So stop being a vagina.

I'll take a pic in a few. I just put a piece of velcro on the mount that came with it, and then on my dashboard. So far so good, hasn't fallen yet.

Nice lightbar! Thanks for the photo of the UltraGauge location - doesn't that bother your view though? like, I want to be able to see as much of the road as possible... Appreciate the time taken to post up, I will have to try some different places around the dash/windshield...

Very cool photo! I've been wondering, does the UltraGauge let you program like service reminders? Like remind me when the truck has rolled over 105K miles (and ding! time for my next oil change)? Can you program the total mileage of the vehicle in there too?

I took the pic from a low view point. Its far down in the corner so very little view is obstructed when you're in the seat. The cord tucks nicely in the gap between the door and dash. Then you can plug it into the port under the dash with wires hidden.
Millerad's location is another great option too.

I sold that light to him, so here's the light output. For a 10" it's not bad, bout 1000 lumens. Mine was higher up so the light might look different when he gets a pic of his. Pics don't really do lights like these any justice. Plus, the trees are blocking the light to see it's full reach.
I'm not sure about programming it as I haven't fully read my manual lol but I do know that mine goes off every 3k miles for an oil change. I would think that it could be changed for a different interval...

Worked on the truck today and made some progress.
Sliders painted..
Changed the inner axle seal...But I think it was actually the brake line at the back of the drum leaking fluid that made me think it was the axle seal leaking. Didn't even notice it until I was bleeding the brakes and noticed I was weeping fluid at the fitting. Start to finish was an hour so no complaints here.
And made the mistake of going to a rather...questionable part of town to return my seal driver and take back all the oil I had been collecting in various containers...No questions asked

Started 3days ago but finished today:
*Installed a Hayden 1678 trans-cooler w/ATP external trans-filter with radiator by-pass.
*drained and filled the trans fluid since it was darker than my engine oil.
*Replaced the LBJs with Raybestos premium lbj's from rockauto.
*Replaced driver's side OTRE.
*Replaced spark plug wires and spark plugs (ngk) and pvc valve.
*Un-corked the airbox with my 1.5" circullar saw.
*Drained and filled diff fluid.
*Replaced headlight combo switch.
*Switched to LED front turns,front markers and cluster.
*Power washed engine bay+ under-carriege.
My knuckles are busted, my back hurts....time for bed!
