Took her to my auto class and vacuumed the interior and cleaned out old receipts, gum wrappers, and homework i didnt do. Now shes all clean inside :)

I tried to install my tacoma 5100's but when i go to put them on I cant get the shock to line up with the bottom hole? I've tried using the jack to push down the control arm but its still too long... any ideas?

You can unbolt the lower ball joint from the spindle (4 bolts) and swing the LCA down as far as you need, then just put the jack under it to get it compressed enough to re-bolt in the Ball joint.

I used a 3ft piece of 2x1.5" steel tube between the bump stop on the lower arm and where it contacts to pry the assembly down. Its easier if you have a helper or you'll have to hold it down with your foot while putting the bolt back in.

All sorts of good stuff..

front diff, transfer case oil, rear diff oil all with synthetic 75w90, power steering fluid flush, ATF drain and fill, air filter, new NGK plugs and wires, pcv valve, valve cover gaskets, synthetic oil and Toyota filter of course. Also front brake pads and drive belts.

Next up, brake fluid flush and new antifreeze along with the brand new Koyo radiator and new hoses. Trying to make sure all is up to par before we start getting snow and really cold weather. Gotta rug doctor it ASAP too.

When I bought the thing I was surprised how long the rear e-locked took to engage, but now with all fresh fluids all around it's very fast. I imagine it hadn't been used in years before me though. Still, nice to know it's working perfectly now.

I just used the handle of my breaker bar through both holes and a slight pry to get them lined up.

Ordered a Schrockworks Front Bumper and a CBI Rear Bumper & Swing out.:reddance: Trimmed front fender flairs so the 285s won't rub.

Attempted to replace my steering rack bushings, found out i am lacking in short metric sockets... and that a couple of the bolts/nuts are a PITA to get loose.

Guess i'll make a trip to the father in laws to use the pneumatics to make the job way easier.

believe it or not i put my fronts in by myself, now there not 5100's but they are tundra bilsteins with a top plate spacer, I used a pry bar under the bottom of the shock and had it in my armpit pushing it down while getting the bolt to go in, then some finesse with a hammer and voila!

not to say I wasnt sore as hell the next day but it was worth it. gonna have to do the passenger side again when i get my 1/4 spacer to make up for the sag i have.

^^that's excellent. I only see milage like that when I drive like a grandma on roadtrips.

That's pretty much what we do. We spend a lot of time on the HWY so we are always trying to get the best MPG possible. Next goal is to try to get 320.
