What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

over the weekend, i replaced the fuel injectors, plugs, and valve cover gaskets (with all the new seals). One of my injectors broke in the intake manifold, so i had to pull that too. Thankfully, the dealer had the intake manifold gaskets in stock, but it definitely added some hours to the job.

me too! Then I crawled under the dash to figure out what model# viper alarm I have, and then did some reading about how it operates and it's functions. That's the only bad thing about buying a used car with an alarm/remote start, I have no idea what it's capable of doing. Apparently, I have one of Viper's high end combos though. Go me!

Replaced my worn out lift gate cylinders with some less than worn out cylinders from the junkyard for $10. Much better now.

inner,outer tie rods, ball joints, new master pull synth winch line in,cleaned up some wiring, and gave her a clean up, also bought a magnetic fender mat for her as i was tired of my greasy hands and zippers screwing things up, the only scratches should be from trail rash!

Revised swing gate bumper and made crush tubes (wanna be sliders) for rockers.

Installed Lockrite locker, then went wheelin...:lookout:

Changed the plugs and wires with the help of Jmildoc. Took out single electrode NGK and Sumitomo wires. Other than one broken boot, everything went smoothly. Installed dual electrode NGK and NGK blue wires. Also added some HP to the wife's and my rig...

Got my driver side rear axle out, replaced inner oil seal, getting new bearings/retainers/abs ring pressed on. Oh, and used about 3 cans of brake cleaner and an entire roll of blue shop towels wiping clean all the funky and gunky gear oil that had leaked over EVERYTHING.

Tomorrow's to-do list: put it all back together!

They are extremely expensive from the d'ship. Look up Momroe lift gate shocks, much more affordable and work just as we'll.

I drove my 4runner to where my brother in law locked his keys inside the Pontiac Sunfire only to find out that I left my slim Jim at home. No worries, I own a 4runner I should be able to perform brain surgery! Unscrewed the antenna off his car, bent the tip slightly and presto...door unlocked and keys in hand...and everyone doubted an antenna could open a car, obviously they don't own 4runners. Moral of the story, don't buy a car with a screw in antenna it's a removable slim Jim for us DIYers. LOL, and sorry no pics of the work or everyone's face when I walked up with the keys after just a few minutes.:lol:
