Really loving the forum! I had to replace the alternator, and blew out the HVAC blower motor. In the next month I'm thinking about new ball joints, replace the busted fog lights with Hella DE's and HIDs, K&N filter as well as other maintenance items...

hey im curious have u ever flex the rear end out at full stuff with those shock mount? does the tire not rub on it?

Pulled the rear drums off and realized my Rear Brake shoes have not touched the drums in at least 30K. Adjusted the rear brakes..... It is like a brand new Truck.
Pulled off the rear hatch cover to inspect my rear hatch handle (not working good) and realized the Handle bolts were just loose. Tightened the bolts - as good as new. While I was back there I cleaned up all the old grease off of the rear window track and gears and re-lithium greased everything.
I also took the center radio bezel off. Glued the 12v outlet back into place (it has been slipping out lately as I pulled plugs out) also took the clock out and cleaned and polished the lense. Then took the 1997 floating cup holder out and fixed the driver side arm (the plastic spring pin broke). I cut the plastic pin off and drilled a hole that a roof nail would fit thru. Put the roof nail in and gorilla glued the flat side, Cut the excess nail off the other side and glued that side. Works like a charm!

Installed a new head unit, the Pioneer FH-X700Bt. My aux-mod factory head unit was getting finicky with the lights, and I wanted Bluetooth, so I decided to pull the trigger. It's a decent looking unit (not too space-shippy) and is user friendly. All around, happy with my decision!
Yesterday was an install of new headlamp units, both sides, and GE Nighthawk platinum bulbs. I chose these over going to HID units as I ran these same bulbs on my 1996 Tacoma and really liked them for light output and cost/benefit ratio. While it was living at its prior owner's house the driver's side took a rock straight to the eyeball and of course he had not taken care of it. Reflector was all nasty and light output from the unit was poor. I took a chance and ordered a set from ebay. They installed as they should have, all holes and parts fit well. I should have ordered replacement marker lights as well, now they look a bit worn. Oh well, next project. Today was an oil/filter change and air filter change. Simple stuff, but it sure makes a difference. Next on the list is a new fog lamp unit, as the driver's side one took a rock right through the eye, just like the headlight! I wish the road maintenance crews would quit using 3/4" crush on the roads instead of sand!

Haha, it does! In all reality, I was really trying to avoid the ;crazy head unit" look, but this one should grow on me. If nothing else, the features outweigh the looks.

Picked up the rear axle seals from the stealership, ordered Tundra TRD strut for the coil/ LC 7s from a salvage joint, ordered Rough Country shocks and Tundra strut absorber, ordered some sweet red shock boots, getting ready to order the thicker coil isolated and top plate spacer, drinking a beer, and then gonna finish the research on the stereo/speakers

I dropped of my rear diff to J&M Offroad today so that they can match the 4.88s that they're putting up front with my ARB Locker. All together parts and labor I'm out the door right under $3k. More than I payed for the truck back in Aug 2010. Enough to do a cheap SAS! Oh well, looks like she's gonna be IFS for a LOOOONG time.
Started with broken spider gears up front. Easy decision, replace with ARB. After further inspection during tear down at J&M they found toasted bearings (reason the spiders chipped) and scoring/chipping on the ring gear. There's no way I was gonna pay just to replace with stock gearing.
Hopefully this weekend I will be adding "dual lockers and 4.88s" to my sig. I can't wait to see how she performs with that setup:hungry: Don't quote me but I might just be done with engine, drive train and suspension:blah: maybe....

Damn dude that's how $500 turns into $3000 - that sucks! I'm sure you'll be more than happy with it though. lol you've got the full set up now: 5speed, SC, gears, lockers, 35's, UCAs, coilovers, snorkel, armor haha etc etc etc
