What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

For the first time since I've owned the runner, all the dash lights are off! I think I'll make a thread about how I got the parking brake light to stay off.

Added a B&M 70264 Transmission cooler! Was harder than i thought it would be! Next is to replace the antenna tomorrow morning.

Nice. What type of material and brand did you use?

Are you going to carpet over it? I glued basic carpet under-mat as a top layer over my sound-deadening.

I used peel and seal. And I'm putting a rubber mat. Then carpet pad. Then the carpet.

I drove mine today.... but can't say I enjoyed it. The PP springs/ TrekMaster R/T setup has got to GO!

Borla sounded pretty good at least.

And of course it looked good... it's a 3rd gen after all.

12V outlets installed

I installed 2 extra 12V outlets in the side of my console today. My 97 only came with 1. I got them from West Marine.

Upgraded from my 891s and comfort shocks to 861s and the Bilstein long travel shocks from Toytech. Gave me two inches over all (total 40" from ground to wheel well)

I promise I'll post pics tomorrow. It got dark on me and the truck is dirty... But long story short is this:
Because of my CBI Rear Bumper my 891s couldn't hold up. Started to sag so I add the 10mm spacers. Still sagged and I was having a 1/4" negative rake.
After this 861 upgrade, I have a great stance now and the ride is so much smother!!! I love the feel for it!

Ok... Couldn't wait... Here's a poor pic of the truck after the lift. I'll have better ones tomorrow!

Nothing sexy, but I put in new spark plugs and wires, and cleaned the MAF and the TB.

With a project like that about the best you can say is "I didn't screw anything up".

Actually though, I bought a couple wobbly 3/8 extensions from Harbor Freight and it made even the rear driver side plug a piece of cake. Just taped the socket and the extensions , and it all went together perfectly. Started on the first crank (probably on TB cleaner) but ran great.

Finally replaced my Lower Control Arms with a set from Toytech:

No replaced the fronts with polyurethane. Rears are about to be gone.

installed my JDM field unit yesterday. got the map lights and sunroof controls to work. next up to wire the monitor up hopefully by the end of the week.
