What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Dumped a can of BG-44k into my tank to hopefully clean things up a bit. Putting in fresh plugs tonight after work.

Also, I guess it's something I didn't do to my 3rd Gen, but instead to my living room (no more wheels in the house!).... I think I finally sold my OEM wheels! While getting the wheels/tires unmounted, the Discount Tire rep mentioned he has a 2000 4Runner and just bought a brand new supercharger for it (JEALOUS) - so I introduced him to T4R.org. Perhaps we'll see him and his new toy on here soon!

I finally got my frame rot issues taken care of. I also ordered my POR15 kits and some cans of internal frame coating from Eastwood. Gonna have fun next weekend!

my hat is off to you. I need to do this to, but they're is so many wires, hoses, and lines running every where. I don't know how you don't get over spray on everything, and how you get even thick coats on everything.

I'm just going to wing it. The internal frame coating seems as easy as it looks. Just plug up the drain holes on the bottom of the frame, park her on a tarp and spray the crap out of it.

After that, I'll wire brush everything off the outer frame and other metal parts, clean and prep, then apply the POR15. Since it goes on with a brush, I'm not really too worried about overspray.

Either way, its a long tedious task I'm not exactly looking forward to doing.

Installed the front struts from my toytec ultimate lift kit. Rear will have to wait till tomorrow. I also installed some RRO rock sliders.

finally took off my fender flares to clean underneath. i figured theyd be pretty dirty but had no idea just how bad. basically a line of bare metal the entire length where they were touching/rubbing. one spot is starting to rust (only spot of rust on the rig) Not sure how to tackle that. it cleaned up some but still wouldnt want to run without the flares at this point. I would like to do the tacoma molding stuff but last time i checked it was like $100 plus just for the rubber. <---thats dumb. anyways if i only knew what to do with these flares and front flaps not that theyre off, hmmm.....

Since you have them off... I'd coat the entire surface of your fenders (where the flares are..) with some multipurpose grease. Then re-install the flares. YOu won't see the grease, and it will stop the rust in it's tracks!

I did the same with my SR5 trim when I bought my 4RUnner used in 2004. I haven't re-done them.... and the paint is holding up just great! (I live in Northeastern Canada.... lots of snow, road salt, and generally awful weather for cars to exist in.. lol)

After FINALLY getting my stuff past customs I picked up everything and made plans to get installations under way. As far as what I got done though over the weekend:

Oil Change
Fuel Filter changed
Installed Smoked LED tails
Put in my SURF cargo area mat
Put in the fridge

I'll get more pics of the other stuff. My iPhone 4 camera sucks so may break out my DSLR down the road.
