Since you have them off... I'd coat the entire surface of your fenders (where the flares are..) with some multipurpose grease. Then re-install the flares. YOu won't see the grease, and it will stop the rust in it's tracks!

I did the same with my SR5 trim when I bought my 4RUnner used in 2004. I haven't re-done them.... and the paint is holding up just great! (I live in Northeastern Canada.... lots of snow, road salt, and generally awful weather for cars to exist in.. lol)

went mudding in stock 99 limited sr5 and i went into some deep puddles air filter is full of water and after my battery died i got a jump on way home the rpms where not goin up or down stuck at zero and no acceleration then she stopped still on just no revving or anything sputter once or twice maybe not bad and then died on side of road any ideas why?? alternator is full of mud so explains battery right?? and my engine and all that is covered in specks of mud as well if that helps any

Had a good day in the garage with my 4runner today, got my Kenwood head unit installed along with Sirius sat radio. Cleaned the gunk out of the TB, and ran some seafoam thru it. Freaked out a couple of the neighbors when I fired it up after the seafoam, it blew a HUGE cloud of white smoke all the way out of the neighborhood. I've done the seafoam on a couple other vehicles in the past so I expected it, but this was way more of a cloud than I have experienced before. It was a smoke screen worthy of the game Spy Hunter!

Details? What tablet? What mount?

The tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, 7" model. The device holder is Pro-Clip brand as is the attachment to the dash. It's all reversable--there are no permanent holes drilled anywhere.

You can spend $330-$450 for an iPad mini and get no dedicated GPS and no removable SD card memory for map storage, or you can buy the Samsung for $179 and have all of the above.

BTW, installed my new shocks today.

What kind of tip is that?

Those are DC Sports stainless steel tips. I believe they are 3.75" and you can get them at Pep Boys, Advanced Auto Parts or Auto Zone for $20 each. I was thinking on maybe painting them matte black but I like the polished look.

yeah, found the culprit, vacuum hose going to SC, cracked underneith-looked fine from above.
Now I just need to disconnect the Meth injection, hide a few things, then try and get it smogged :caked:

Today I reconnected the battery and paid the insurance bill, so I can put some miles on it before it needs to be emissions tested by the end of April. I have to get those readiness codes out of there! I also got sick of reading all the possible bulbs I might have under my shifter, ash tray, and HVAC lights, so I yanked everything out and ordered the correct LED's after seeing them with my own eyes. They are #74's if anyone wants to know, and the dash lights are #194's.

I replaced my front struts and my rear shocks, and even though this can be done at the house and by virtually anyone I wouldn't wish this job on my worst enemy! Fin.
