that doesn't mean it didn't suck something up somehow through the screen and lock the impeller. I ruined an engine in an old mustang by locking the pump up on the highway.

The oil pressure release valve was gummed up. Apparently the inside of the pan looks the same. The pickup was full of crap as well.
Thankfully I didn't starve the engine and screw the bearings. Replacing the thermostat, oil pressure sender, sender seals, crank seal and drive axle seals in the diff.

today I put on a new oil pressure sensor which is next to the oil filter.
I also changed the oil and filter. I have been having the flickering oil light on at idle for the past couple of days. After I finished, i took it out for a spin a and got it up to temp. I did not get any flickering light. Hopefully that solve the problem.
When I bought it, from a Toyota only used dealer, he of course told me it had been took care of. What a load of crap. I think that the previous owner just changed the oil but did not change out the filter. It has been leaking oil for some time and now I think that the old filter which was a Napa Gold was the problem. I will check tomorrow to see if it is still leaking.
My plan is to simply start changing out old components like the alternator and power steering pump etc. i think they are all the originals parts.
1998 3.4 limited with 262,000 4wd to anyone in in the Boston area my thoughts and prayers are sent your way. and to everyone else.

washed it in prep for replacing the rear driver side axle seal again:suspicious:
Using Marlin HD seals this time, since I'm running tacoma crmo axles w/inserts.
@ Natemob, you running a front locker? Curious about the talk regarding lotus axles moving the "weak link" to the diff?:hand:

Disabled my DRL's (don't know why they bothered me so much) and replaced a corner bulb.
Not much, but quite a project with my 2 1/2 year old running the wrenches every step of the way;-) fun when they are really into it......hope that lasts!!!
Was going to reprogram my alarm so the locks don't auto lock when you start truck. Just read link the other day in someone's build thread, but can't find it now.

The voltage results are in ... at idle it now ranges from 13.8v to 14.2v using a $9 tool I bought on Amazon to test battery/alt. Before this upgrade I would barely get 13.0 when at idle.

Installed a blueseas fuse block (exactly the same as above), and ran some #8 to it, and then some more number #8 into the drivers footwell and over to the passengers seat where I'm going to mount my inverter underneath.
Think I will run a #8 neg to the fuse block as well rather than grounding it there.
Need to get a plate made up to mount the fuse block and some more butt connecters.

Replaced the gas cap, no more check engine light!

Took a little off the top
Cut the top portion off of the TJM bumper. Great company, some perp left a broken drill bit in the the driver's side hollow tube. Since there no point in having a showcase grille that you don't show this just made sense. Also installed tundra 231s and flushed everything repeatedly only to have a soft peddle. Even replaced master cylinder and still soft so removed and went back to standard. No more shuddering.:lookout:
Going to clean up the tjm a little more; figure after paint and lift the impact will be far greater than now. Next up is:
Corvette seats

Painted the wheels finally. Half the original clear coat had flaked off...looked terrible. 1 week to cure, followed by a few more coats, then another week to cure. Looks like I'm borrowing the wife's car for a while. Duplicolor wheel paint in graphite. No clear coat yet.

Are you doing other work to it or is it sitting on jackstands for two weeks just for paint?
She will be sitting just like this for 2 weeks.
