I installed my toytec ultimate lift and finally located and ordered a set of the sr5 front mudflaps. I had to order them from 2 different dealerships, i was told they were discontinued so i knew they would be hard to find.

Picked up my hood from the shop. After repainting it twice to match the color it's still off. Going to wait till my brothers slow at work and drop the whole truck off to see if we can match it better , if not guess i'll blend into the fenders.

Wow. It's pretty far off. I am guessing you changed out the hood for a sport hood? What did that run? I am looking to get one since I need a new hood.

wheel paint

Finished the paint job on the wheels. 3 coats of base, 3 of clear, on top of last week's 3 coats of base.


The wife added blue accents to the center caps before clear coat. Another week to cure now, and I'm rolling again.

That was only one side done sitting on the ground. The wheel wells are definetly hungry for some bigger tires. But yes i use plenty of jack stands. Not fun having a 2 ton truck coming down on you.

Speaking of which, where do you guys put your jack stands? These trucks aren't great for lower stands. I need taller ones to get to my frame...

in my younger and dumber days i almost had my bmw take me out, so nothing rests solely on the jack in my driveway. For my jack stands i put them up on some thick wood so they are closer to the frame and that has worked great. i put the front jack stands right in front of the crossmember on the frame. Cant remember where i put them in the rear, i know it was in front of the rear tires for sure though.
