Last Week: Bought my third Toyota, but first 3rd gen T4F. All kinds of cleanup since then, much of it thanks to guides from here!

Today: Pulled the seats, center console, cleaned and cleaned. And found this souvenir from the PO (or earlier) stuck in the floor heater unit:

Replaced front and rear sway bar bushings with poly and bashed my head into the hitch receiver....blood everywhere.

Tightened my hub nuts and removed my spacers. Think I was under the 174lb of torque...rides much better

Took it to an indy Toyota shop to confirm my fear that the torque converter is on the downturn. For a new one, plus an OEM new rear main seal will cost me over $1200. Better start saving my pennies.

Waxed it last night. Watched the neighbor's cat try to jump on the hood afterwards, only to go sliding off backwards.

It looks like its rubbing on the metal from the door but theres not. The rubber seal keeps it from rattling while driving

is it just screwed into the door jam?

I suggest you buy a used throttle body which will include the IAC. Not from CL of course but from a certified parts distributor. I bought one via EBAY from a Texas parts store that just also lists on eBay. It came with 3 month full money back guarantee and a statement the truck it came off had < 100k miles (I can't remember the exact #) ... I think I paid about $125 shipped.

What's the name of the shop on ebay you reference?

Cleaned up the MAF, TB, IAC (still idling high, but plenty more to check there.) But the best pictures are from the air filter, or rather, the state the PO had left it:

Thought the same. Half expected to pull out a skeleton along with the leaves.

For all the holes in the air filter, though, the MAF wasn't in bad shape. But oddly, it didn't look anything like the MAF I've seen in the various writeups about cleaning them. The plastic body was much more built up, like a nozzle.

I did, I paid $300 for it. It's hacked and bypassed too, so I get red-light cameras and restaurant logo's and stuff. It's pretty cool.
