Front Axle

Installed a new (not reman) front driver side axle. Got one from Parts Geek - a EMPI/Empire Axle Assembly - Retail Price: $207.45 my price: $66.25
with free shipping and no core charge. My inner boot had torn so I replaced the whole thing. Used Jeff Bathke's 5/2005 write-up. Thanks Jeff. Very helpful, and an easy job. Got the axle from Parts Geek in only 3 days from placing my order.

Lol, police don't set the price for violations, they just enforce them. Hey, here's an easy solution, put a new bulb in, take a picture of it, bring it to court and see what they'll do. Yes, I agree, it's a bit excessive to issue you a ticket instead if a warning, but by your attitude here towards police, I bet you were a huge douche nozzle to the cop which is why he issued you the ticket in the first place.

Nah bud ever since I first got my license I knew to be polite to police because it helps in the courtroom in front of the judge. This guy was a warden at switzer lake and all we were doing was going to camp overnight and he sees me and pulls me over and acts like I've killed someone and even then I was polite because I believe you should show respect to get it...you shouldn't call somebody a douche nozzle when you don't have any knowledge of the situation because frankly speaking it makes you look like a douche nozzle lol. I was saying **** the police because $125 is a bit excessive don't ya think?

Hopefully finally fixed my ac. Tried fixing about a month ago only to still have a leak from the evaporator/expansion valve area. Took it apart again and found that I pinched an o-ring. Easy fix at least. Besides having to take it apart again. And washed and waxed my hood. Was told that I can't wax my paint but my hood had become really oxidized from the engine heat so I had to do something. Tried the spray wax that guys at the gas stations are always trying to sell you while you pump gas. Worked great. You can see the difference of before and after.

Damn those police for doing their jobs! And actually, yes, I'm quite educated. I don't know your situation? Did you not just describe how you got a ticket? What else are you leaving out? Yesterday I replaced both front axles in about 3 hours (never done it before, took my time). Nothing broke! It was amazing! The OEM ones were still on there, after 14 years and 178K miles.

Well, one thing I discovered, the boot on one of my near-new OEM tie rod ends had pooped it's grease. I hope I can just re-boot it soon.

I used the 4x4wire directions - and they were more or less spot-on.

I'll bet you lunch? Its FZJ80 Land Cruisers around the world. Only here in US market its known as Lexus LX450. Lexus is like a Land Rover with all the bells and whistle on a set of slicks street tires.

I paid for the body lift yesterday....just waiting on word that it shipped. I ordered the 1/2" lift from the classifieds here. Should make just enough room to use these 3/4" square bend ubolts I custom ordered for my slider install. Sure I could have welded them but I wanted to document what's needed for a bolt on application.

I got them off craigslist from some guy in Oceanside for $275. I could have gone cheaper but the poor guy had to pay his rent. Surprisingly it rides smoother on 16x7 than 16x8, I guess maybe because of the balloon effect. I don't notice the knobies as much. No rubbing no nothing. I got a thing coming up with Energy Suspension, I might give them my truck for a week to be use it as guinea pig for their master kit. We'll see..

I'm thinking of doing a 1" body lift also. Let me know whats their turn around time.

After reading your quote again I can draw 2 conclusions about the wheels.
1) you're saying these wheels are LC wheels because lx450s are essentially landcruisers

OR

2) you're saying these wheels came from a JDM, Australian market, Canadian market...etc. FJ80, FZJ80, HDJ80, HZJ80 (which case would be unique and you may be able to get a higher dollar on ih8mud.com)

I did start a thread about possibly spacing my steering joint and made reference to 4crawler but I did not order from that site, if that's who you were asking about turn around time from.
