I gotta address the dash separation from the front part of the drivers instrument cluster hump. I suppose the cheapest and easiest method is to use a carpet or mat cut to size? Any other options besides replacing it altogether?

I would go with a custom cut carpret dash mat. The dealers normally sell these and there are many vendors online.

I recommend Dashmat Ultimat. I like mine. Dual purpose: sound reduction, and hiding my cracked dashboard.

Is that by Maui? My wife and I are going there in August to visit some friends that recently moved there. All I can think of is the South Park "Going Native" episode. If you install a snorkel, can you drive there? Kidding. Clean and simple. Rig looks good.

bahaha!!! that south park episode is crazy/funny/retarded at the same time,
im on kauai, same island that that episode was about. haha trade in a snorkel for a skuba tank, that would be a first:scared:

Backup camera. Ordered it one day on Amazon for like $20. The effort required to install it...well, I would have paid $20 to convince myself to just save it for another car down the road.

Already had the wiring run to the back (video and signal wire) so I just needed to snake that to the appropriate place, tap in to the reverse light to power camera and send signal up front. Uhg. And to those of you who simply greased up the video cable to slip it through the rubber piece in back hatch? No way hah. Had to make several slits in it to continue feeding the wire, and now it's electrical taped to the max. At least it's over, and works!

It's not are dry and brown as you may think .... there are some plants even in this drought.

Learned how to swap out my CV axles, and installed a set of eagle eye lights in the back cargo area for more light. they're only about $10 from amazon, and bright as hell

Hey, BrianSD_42...congrats on being post #6666 on this thread!

Anyways...finally had the timing belt job done.

Bought one of AirCabinMan's kits on Ebay and took 'er to Toyota to do the work.

Had the following replaced:

Timing Belt
Drive Belts
Crankshaft Seal
Camshaft Seals
Water Pump
Tensioner
Idler Pulley
Tensioner Pulley
Thermostat

Labor (plus Toyota-Red coolant) came in at $500 and the parts cost me $350. All told: $850.

The feeling I have knowing my 4runner with 225,000 miles has many more to go: priceless!

Replaced the timing belt and water pump, new plugs and wires, new valve cover gaskets, new radiator and a bunch of more beer cans to add to the pile. Next up lift and safari rack with lights. 280,000 miles and kicking.

We started working on the truck and installing everything and when we got to the adjustable panhard, the adjustable aspect of it stopped working..... and we had to drill the originall holes for the panhard and other small things, and being in lovely utah, most places were not open at convenient times so to sum it all up, we ran into issues and ran out of time before I got to go into work. No worries though. We are going to finished it tomorrow afternoon! UCA's, Icons, diff drop, brakelines, panhard, and other small important thing I'm forgetting will be installed! should be a good time.
