Is that plug difference on the engine harness side?
What im saying is woukd it be a problem if you also had the engine wiring harness from a 97 manual 4runner?

I had to do that to mine too a while ago. My parents had one go bad on a ford aerostar and every time your turned left the horn would go off. I drove it like that in high school for a few months. Good times.

Finished up the 5 speed swap, she runs and drives now! :thumb3:
Got new quiet flow ss muffler to install tomorrow and starter contacts. Hasn't been starting well at all lately. Should be all fixed up by noon tomorrow. Gotta haul the horse to the barn in the afternoon with the truck. Be interesting to see of the new muffler sounds any different than the stock on did before it blew a seam. Hopefully I don't hear it. Gotta sneak up on the moose in the fall.

200k maintenance (a little early, currently at 181) and had an Aussie locker put in the rear!

I haven't had any problems with my 3RZ-FE head gasket yet in the 25,500 miles of ownership. Hope it stays that way and I like that it has a timing chain, not a belt all 5VZ owners have. Sorry, but I don't envy you guys on having to replace that item.

Bought tickets to see Nine Inch Nails + Soundgarden in Dallas, Austin and Houston. If I can put it in my budget within the next few days before tickets sell out I will also include the New Mexico and Cali shows.. This is 4runner related because this will be the beginning of my preparation for my 4runner road trip to all over the west coast.

What brand and where did you buy? My OEM muffler has a split down the middle and I need to look at future replacement.

Spark Plugs
Finally changed the spark plugs with NGK Iridium IX(single electrode) and what a difference. Pulled out some funky lookin NGK platinum single electrodes which were ok, but as soon as I put in the Iridium's I noticed a definite difference in response in the gas pedal. I need to check the old plugs and see if they were gapped correctly or are Iridiums just that good?
Ripped off the crappy shield guard on the sunroof as well, that thing was really buggin me.
And lastly I washed the beast, which it then proceeded to rain lol.
On the horizon;
