I saw on his website that some Toyotas require a full wiring harness replacement. Which makes little sense to me but OK.

No, it snapped off the back. I kept backing up till it was hanging out like this, tied it up with a strap and drove it about 15 miles home. Running without a skid plate worries me. Even though as a DD I won't run into situations that require it, I don't want anything else to be harmed.

installed the Lotus trailing arm skids, one of the easiest mods yet!

and my bumper finally was installed! My buddy Bill built it for me and I can't thank him enough, this thing is a beast. the ladder for it will be installed next week sometime, it'll go right behind where the Jerry cans are

I still don't get the built not bought discussion. What is built?

Does it mean one did not buy the truck already modded out? So if I buy pre-fabbed sliders and bumpers is the truck built?

I'd say there are very few on this site (and I'm not one of them) who actually welded on their own truck. Its pretty cool sh#t those who do it. Dirtco comes first to mind. Also COB since he converted his to 4WD which is just plain badass. :washing:

I would say it's someone putting the work in themselves. There are just different levels of it. Back when my dad and I bagged his hombre (made pretty much everything from scratch except the stuff we can't produce such as switches hoses bags etc...) we got lots of crap from people who had lifted trucks. (Most of those people bought their truck like that and can't tell a crescent wrench from a socket) in matter in fact one guy was giving us crap with a dealer sticker still on the frickin window!

So to end my small rant built in my eyes is if you put everything in, it's built not bought. Because everything requires a little elbow grease and blood.

Over the weekend I replaced my Shift solenoids and lock up solenoid and cleaned up the transmission. It rides like a new car, and then to round everything out installed an 18" magnaflow muffler.

Installed a BT headunit in my 98, fixed my 4wd shift boot, collected all the change that has accumulated under the center console from the last 237k miles. Re-did the BT mic location in my girls 02 so it clears the visor at all times.

Got the last of the wiring done for my retrofit e-locker. I'm really happy I decided to go with the OEM wiring approach, and it honestly wasn't very difficult. Now it's time to swap out the axles.

did a drain and flush. I got almost 5 quarts of old tranny fluid out.
