Pulled the dual batteries and began repair of cracked fender skirt or whatever you call that part that shields the wheel from the engine compartment. Working on a way to better support my Ruffstuff dual box too.

Also got a Blue Sea 12 circuit fuse block with cover- I ran out of spots on the old block so will be replacing it with this.

Ordered my CVT Mt. Shasta RTT. I sure hope these tents are as good as I hear because so far I'm not impressed with CVT's customer service.

Just curious why you went with CVT? Not that its a bad choice it is just a bit more appealing when they have their 30% off sale, I think that's the main reason you hear people singing their praises...

I have a friend with a CVT, and I think its very well made. I've also until my experience so far heard great things about their customer service. But a big part of the reason is they are located in Bend Oregon and I am going down there next month, so I am just going to pick it up while I'm down there and save the shipping costs.

Wow very cool!! I wish they had this option when I bought mine! I have just the plain autana model. How does the rain fly work with that one? Do you have to have it off to see outside?

Tonight I raced home to wire up my CB radio. For the record, PRO505XL is about 2 centimeters too wide to fit in ash tray. Took the shell off of the CB radio and it slid in, very tight. Okay, tested where I'd take power from (add a circuit) and found a good ground. Great, radio powered on. Snaked wires behind the dash to their final resting place and reconnected. Radio wouldn't power on. Fuse blown - get new glass tube fuses from Autozone at 9:30pm, they blow immediately.

Radio smells burnt inside :fish: So, there goes that. Now I have a paperweight where my ash tray used to be.

well tonight i lit a fire under my ass and started stripping down my runner to install my dual transfer cases. ordered it from inchworm months ago and it's been sitting on the shelf collecting dust till now.

Oh, and I gave away all my old suspension parts to a nice gent who showed up in a 234k 2000 4Runner with a 5spd. I invited him to join this forum.

And he tried to join, just to find out he had joined a year ago

Also he checked his odometer and found he has 212k miles. In his defense, he states he keeps the odometer in the trip mode to keep track of gas mileage.

I finished up my rear rack today and front shackles. I am so pleased with the final design. I took inspiration from the few rear racks I saw and made my own improvements. There is not a millimeter movement in the rack with my big ss bolt screwed in on top of the hitch which I re-enforced with an extra piece of steel. It all slides out quickly when needed and also serves as a rear ladder into my airtop.
