Did the steering play fix. The difference is so dramatic it's not even funny. Unfortunately I noticed that one of my inner CV boots broke. Anyone know of some HD CV boots?

P.S. Anyone local San Diego that brings me their steering shaft I'll weld it for free.

Replaced both cv axles and dropped my 3 position billies down to the first notch from the 2nd notch which was way to high!!! It's always good when your cv's come out in multiple pieces, I'm surprised they didn't grenade on the road.

But in the last month... I got new 17" FJ cruiser wheels + used 285/70/17 bfg ATs (85% tread) for $596 at les schwab, woooo :bolt:

And I color matched (sorta) my bumpers. #nochrome

Re-threaded all the factory skid plate bolt holes for 8M x1.5. Easiest thing in the world to do. I thought threading was much more difficult.

Pending mods: 99-02 TYC headlights, clear corners/driving lights. New OEM rear drums/pads, new OEM rack and pinion/outer tie ends. (Though the rack doesn't appear to be leaking any more???), and lastly a set of 1.5 Spidertraxx spacers. This 214k monster is driving like new!

This was a busy weekend I installed pretty much all of my in the cab electrical stuff. I got a new Duralast AGM battery which seems pretty nice. They are made by Johnson Controls who make Optima batteries so we will see how the performance actually is on it. It has a 3 year warranty and was only $145 so I figured I could give it a shot.

Rust Proofing

Took off the under door plastic trims to get access to the rocker panel insides. Flushed them out with lots of water, there was a little dirt inside but not bad for a 96. After letting them dry I let loose with a can of rust proofing spray/oil. Used a whole can for the 2 sides. Currently slowly dripping away in the driveway.

While I was at it I pulled the 2 front seats and swapped passenger side seat bottom for the drivers. Feels like I got a new drivers seat!
