That bumper is beautiful. I like it better than mine... looks lighter as well.
I always wanted to know what the belt on my runner looks like. The water pump and timing belt will be the next big job on my truck.... I envy you guys who have the tech Know-How,the tools,space and most important good friends you can call to assist you when it's time to work on your passion..

I'll preface my post with a modification of the question to: "what did you do to your 4Runner this past week?"

In that time I've replaced the drivers side axle seal, both rear wheel cylinders, full rebuild on the rear drum setup, and last night I did the big Tundra ugrade on the front with the Power Stop full package.

By the end of this weekend I will also have the rear wiper motor replaced (mine is still working great, but when someone decided that my rear wiper needed to be ripped off, they also seriously bent the shaft that comes from the motor that the wiper attaches onto.)

If I still have more time that the wife allows additional wrench time, I want to wire in my hd dash camera (Russian style, but straight from Hong Kong). It takes a 160* fisheye view, so I want to put it on a swivel mount up above the rearview mirror, thst way I canface it forward for driving action, and in towards the cabin for other action (you know, conversation between me and the wife.... and as a device for holding the police accountable if ever such an event presents itself).

Where did you get it at and price? Been thinking about doing a few in mine. Then when the wife says "I never said that!" I can just play it back for her and show her exactly where we were driving when it happened...lol

Yep you read correctly cat food was inside the roots of the SC I just purchased the other day and was the culprit as to why it would not spin.

yep welded myself, the plate (gusset type mounting plate that goes onto the frame) was WAY too thick, and i made the ugliest beads I've ever laid down.... but they're strong enough to hold up ~600 lbs of two guys standing on them, so i guess something was done correctly....

I need a better welder!

Well, I'm preparing to move some very precious cargo tomorrow. It's the first time I've towed with it, so I did a bunch of maintenance. Greased all the zerks on the driveline, added a tranny cooler, reinstalled sway bars and the hitch, changed the air filter, did the deckplate mod and washed it. Can't wait for tomorrow.

no. not my DD. but i also installed a pwm dimmer switch to turn them down from 10% to 100% for the respect of the other folks on the road. i have the bumper lights that mainly help me see better for driving and then just turn the headlights down to about 15 or 20%. whats really good is if this turned into me driving it more as a DD, i maintained all stock so all i have to do is install stock style headlamps.

I hate pack rats. I used to have that kinda thing happen all the time. What part of Oregon you from ? I used the live in a little place called Sprague River.

Finally have a functional power antenna! Fixed it yesterday with a new one. Had to go through the whole motor and pull out all the little broken pieces. I bought this Runner with the antenna not working.. I had no idea it had broken so much. hah.

Was it a pain to take the motor out? Previous owner of mine put am aftermarket antenna by the rear view mirror. I'm sick of listening to my motor run with no antenna haha I want it gone.

I wouldn't call it a pain.. It was fairly easy. My only pain to it was the dumb plastic push-in tabs that hold the fender liner in. I don't think those are made to be removable and I spent a lot of my time trying to pull them out without damaging them because I didn't buy new ones. So I wanted to re-use them. That was my pain. But if you buy some of them beforehand and just know you are going to go in, break out those ones, pull the liner back, then put new ones back in.. You can do it fairly easily. I didn't even remove the whole liner. I only removed the back half, folded it out of the way, accessed the motor, then put it back on.

One thing I'd note if you plan to remove the whole thing. Come up with some way to plug that fender hole. The entire antenna shaft I believe is connected to the motor, so I don't know if you can remove the motor while keeping the stem mounted. You might just want to get in to it then just unplug it so it doesn't run. Keep it in there so you still have your antenna hole sealed and whatnot. Just a thought.

Thanks alot! There is already a hole there. PO removed the stem. I'll either try and do a stubby antenna without the motor or see if I can get a cb whip in there. I still have to research it all.
